Pastor Jim Bakker blames Obama’s Iran deal for California’s drought and the Second Coming of Christ David Edwards 16 Jul 2015 at 13:59 ET Televangelist Jim Bakker warned this week that a historic deal with the goal of preventing Iran from getting a nuclear weapon was to blame for the drought in California and was a sign of the Second Coming of Christ. During a discussion about the End Times on The Jim Bakker Show, Alabama Pastor John Kilpatrick explained that God was punishing America for abortions, idolatry, homosexuality and fornication. ADVERTISEMENT “What God said is that blood itself had a life,” Kilpatrick told Bakker. “So whenever a doctor aborts a baby and that blood is being flushed down the commode, God hears the voice of that baby going down that commode, saying, ‘Help! Forgive Lord! Forgive them! Forgive my mother!'” Kilpatrick pointed out that the Bible said that “the land is full of sexual sin” like homosexuality. “Because the curse of the sin the land lies parched,” he said. “What’s going on in California right now with such a drought.” The Alabama pastor noted that God was also punishing the U.S. for “breaking covenant.” “We’ve been in a covenant with Israel since 1948, we’ve been blessed. We haven’t cursed Israel, we’ve been blessed,” Kilpatrick observed. “We’ve been Israel’s second home!” Bakker agreed. “We have been a second Israel. We have been somewhat as a God-blessed nation, a spiritual haven for the Jew. Israel and us are the only ones!” “Every detail has taken place, people,” he added. “We’re breaking covenant,” Kilpatrick continued. “But not only are we breaking covenant now, but this [same-sex marriage] law has just come down from the Supreme Court. You’ve got the blood moons coming up… all this stuff is dovetailing and coming together right now.”

How does he know this? Is he a psychic? Maybe those aborted babies are saying, "Kill them and throw them in Hell!" I thought Israel claims a covenant with God, not with some fading democratic republic like America. I found the video at YouBoob. This Kilpatrick sounds like a bigger crackpot than Jim Bakker. Looks like Bakker is on the Chris Christie Crispy Creme Diet.

Pastor Jim Bakker is another nutcase with convoluted reasoning making money by bilking easily influenced people. California was in a severe drouth a year before there was any Iran deal.

That ain't Bakker. Bakker is the white-haired guy with the beard. I remember when I was a kid my friend's mom used to watch and be mesmerized by those plastic people, Jim and Tammy Faye. I never understood it then, and I don't understand it now.

Thanks for that link. It brings back lots of old memories of the two, plus the others in their roller coaster ride of life.
I would watch spots of their program from time to time. I was fascinated at the way they could "cast a spell" over people and hold the attention of their audiences.
Their lavish lifestyles and their air-conditioned dog house still stick in my memories. I guess I tuned in once in a while way back when, but only for a few minutes.
These folks, and other like them today, could have done/do great things. I read about one living in a $10 million dollar (I believe it was) mansion and think how that money could be spent for the betterment of their congregation and homeless people. I am off my soap box now, I have chores to do....you take care, Fred.
