Senator Jeff Sessions will release this statement in response to Senate's vote to advance the fast-track trade bill: “Americans increasingly believe that their country isn’t serving its own citizens. They need look no further than a bipartisan vote of Congress that will transfer congressional power to the Executive Branch and, in turn, to a transnational Pacific Union and the global interests who will help write its rules. "The same routine plays out over and again. We are told a massive bill must be passed, all the business lobbyists and leaders tell how grand it will be, but that it must be rushed through before the voters spoil the plan. As with Obamacare and the Gang of Eight, the politicians meet with the consultants to craft the talking points—not based on what the bill actually does, but what they hope people will believe it does. And when ordinary Americans who never asked for the plan, who don’t want the plan, who want no part of the plan, resist, they are scorned, mocked, and heaped with condescension. "Washington broke arms and heads to get that 60th vote—not one to spare—to impose on the American people a plan which imperils their jobs, wages, and control over their own affairs. It is remarkable that so much energy has been expended on advancing the things Americans oppose, and preventing the things Americans want. "For instance: thousands of loyal Americans have been laid off and forced to train the foreign workers brought in to fill their jobs—at Disney, at Southern California Edison, across the country. Does Washington rush to their defense? No, the politicians and the lobbyists rush to move legislation that would double or triple the very program responsible for replacing them. "This ‘econometarian’ ideology holds that if a company can increase its bottom line —whether by insourcing foreign workers or outsourcing production—then it’s always a win, never a downside. Yes, Jeff, that's true. And which party controls both houses of Congress? The Republicans.
And which party controls both houses of Congress? The Republicans. I got some weird denials on here by so called conservatives and or Republicans when I mentioned my observation that for these free trade deals it is usually most Republicans and some Democrats (key Dem leadership types) that support them. That the GOP is the free trade party for the most part and always has been and is the main party cheerleading such deals in congress.

Stone, why do you keep denying the GOP is the main free trade party - the driving force for free trade ideologies comes from most Republicans with some key Democrats.
And nothing will change till a few brave men cause them to fear their ultimate meeting with and judgement by Christ more than they love money, power, and the democrat.
32 Democrats and 2 Independents (DINOs) voted No. That leaves 5 Republicans, just 5, to have voted against this. So, the Republicans just passed this over the Democrat opposition, with a handful of Republicans standing with the Democrats, and a few crossover Democrats standing with the Republicans.
Well, curiously, in the vote that just happened, the Democrats mostly voted AGAINST the bill. It was the Republicans who passed it. Take a look at the Senate vote right up thread.
The first part is true, and the second part is false. Historically the GOP was the party of protectionism, they only began to switch after WW2, and went full bore after the cold war ended. As an example, this is from the GOP platform of 1972: We deplore the practice of locating plants in foreign countries solely to take advantage of low wage rates in order to produce goods primarily fur sale in the United States. We will take action to discourage such unfair and disruptive practices that result in the loss of American jobs. The RINO party of today celebrates this sort of thing, along with the importation of cheap labor into the US to displace American workers whose jobs cannot be exported.
And the reason they do it is that they have sold themselves for money.
