CINCINNATI —Cincinnati police say an officer who was wounded in a shootout in Madisonville Friday morning has died. Chief Jeffrey Blackwell said Officer Sonny Kim, a 27-year veteran, died at UC Medical Center. "CPD lost one of our best today," Blackwell said. The shooting happened near the intersection of Roe Street and Whetsel Avenue just after 9 a.m. Blackwell said officers responded to a report of a man with a gun acting erratically. At some point after officers arrived, gunfire broke out, Blackwell said. Kim and the suspect were hit.
