An NYPD transit cop shot and killed a knife-wielding man who slashed the officer’s neck during a bloody clash in Brooklyn Thursday, officials said.

Officer Filippo Gugliara, 24, was at the Ocean Parkway station on the Q line in Coney Island at 1:15 p.m. when he saw a white-haired man in a purple shirt fighting with a woman in her 70s at the foot of the stairs, police sources said.

The cop chased Tcherniak to Ocean Parkway and Seabreeze Ave. when the suspect turned and slashed at Gugliara with a five-inch Fallkniven hunting and fishing knife, cutting the cop’s shoulder and neck, police said.

Gugliara pulled his gun during the scuffle and fired twice, killing the older man, officials said.

Tcherniak was found sprawled out on the sidewalk face first in a pool of his own blood — the $170 knife a few inches from his hand.

It took three yellow journalists to turn a cop nicking his double chin shaving, into an "officer safety" justified homicide.

A pathetic PR release from the FOP.

Front Office People; typically they are Know-Nothing cretins that permeate all of society such as government and BIG Business. They weren't naturally occurring in the world around us until trained within an academy that specializes in so-called economic class distinction; they just became that way based on their do-nothing, meaningless, mind-numbing jobs, even if there is no formal education.

Let me see there are good cops, bad, cops, dumb cops and arrogant cops, it just depends on where you live as to what type you run into on a regular basis.

I live semi out in the country so I fall under the Sheriffs jurisdiction, they all seem to be a bunch of good guys. They patrol my plat at least 3 times a day, do house checks when people are on vacation so forth and so on. They've went as for as closing my side garage access door in the middle of the night that one of the daughters had left open. One day I was out in the yard and one of them pulled up in the driveway to tell me they had closed that door the night before. I just so happened to have Uncle Siggy on my hip, he looked right at it and didn't even bat on eyelash. Just asked what caliber (.45) it was and we ended up talking about our favorite guns.

Now if I lived in town I probably wouldn't open carry cause they seem to fall into the arrogant and dumb categories and I'd probably find myself in jail or maybe worse. What do you really expect from a police department that has lowered it's standards for diversity reasons.

I also remember when I was a kid I had a 68 Plymouth GTX with a 440 Magnum 4 speed setup. I was being stopped in town by this "SAME COP" about every week or so. He would look under my car at the exhaust system and tell me I needed to put longer extensions on it to where it came out past the back bumper, even though it was legal to only have it just past the rear axle. He wasn't writing me tickets just being an annoying phuck. So after the 3rd or 4th time I finally asked him if he was stopping the police chiefs kid for having the same exhaust system (I knew that cause I had helped him install it). He said no and that was the last time he stopped me, I seen him many times after that and he never gave me a second look.

I agree that there are good cops, bad cops, dumb cops and arrogant cops.

I will take your opening objective summation and apply it here….to ask: Why doesn’t your same rational apply to your assumption. You did make assumptions….you used the word “probably” twice. It is a mistake to take standard theories of counterfactual as a statement. This is to say that if it did not happen in A, it would “probably” happen in C….is not relative to any supposition or hypothesis.

There are good cops, bad cops, dumb cops and arrogant cops in the city, the same as there are in the country. It’s depends on the cop….not on the location of the cop.

FYI - I have never experience any problem during the last 40 years with open carry anywhere in Arizona. Of course I don’t carry in locations where no weapons are allowed.

As I would expect of a state where just about everybody there was raised around firearms or using firearms, and where open carry has been the law for quite sometime and now can conceal carry "without" a permit.
