Title: Cops Raid Little Girls’ “Illegal” Lemonade Stand, Shut it Down for Operating Without a Permit

lemonade

Tyler, TX — Last week, police in Texas heroically saved the town from likes of two young girls who attempted to open a black market lemonade stand. The girls, one 7-year-old and one 8-year-old, dared to try to raise money to buy a Father’s day present for their dad by setting up a lemonade stand in their neighborhood.

Andria and Zoey Green told ABC affiliate KLTV they were trying to raise about $100 for a Father’s Day present. They wanted to take him to Splash Kingdom.

Over the weekend, the two young entrepreneurs took to the streets with their delicious batch of homemade lemonade and began to provide willing customers with their product. Only one hour into their business endeavour, these girls had raised 25% of their goal.

However, their cash cow would be shut down not long after it started. Overton police chief Clyde Carter showed up along with the city code enforcer and shutdown their criminal operation.

The girls had violated Texas House Bill 970, or the Texas Baker’s Bill, which does not allow the sale of food that needs time or temperature control to prevent it from spoiling. Since the lemonade would eventually grow mold after being left out for days, police said they needed an inspection from the health department and a permit to sell it and deemed their operation “illegal.”

The cost of the permit is $150 dollars.

“It is a lemonade stand, but they also have a permit that they are required to get,” Chief Carter said.

crto_zoneid = window.innerWidth>=990?206278:206279;

“I think that’s ridiculous. I think they’re 7 and 8, and they’re just trying to make money for their own cause,” said Sandi Evans, the girls’ mother.

The most absurd aspect of this ordeal is that the police know it’s a ridiculous law. However, they said ridiculous or not, it’s the law and they’ll keep enforcing it.

“We have to follow by the state health guidelines,” said Carter. “They have to have a permit if they’re going to do the lemonade stands.”

Police officers can certainly use discretion and choose not to “enforce” this law for use in such an asinine application. The fact that these girls had their good intentions ruined by those who claim to protect them speaks to the level of discontent with law enforcement in America today.

The heartening side to this story is that these young girls are now learning to bypass this tyrannical system of bureaucratic nonsense. The girls said they will be setting up their lemonade stand again this weekend. Instead of selling it though, they will be giving it away, but they will gladly be accepting donations.

Hopefully next week, we aren’t reading the story of these two Texas girls being raided by the IRS for tax evasion on their lemonade donations. But in today’s police state USA, it would be entirely expected.

The most absurd aspect of this ordeal is that the police know it’s a ridiculous law. However, they said ridiculous or not, it’s the law and they’ll keep enforcing it.

"Just following orders" Hmmm, where have I heard that before?

Oh - now I remember.

I dunno what was more hilarious -- yuklown's initial "outing," or the dumb months-long cover-up by the Skipper, Gilligan, and their "client.

The funniest part is is that someone actually likes him, shows a lot about their lack of good judgement. Oh wait some of them still post here... Shhhhhhh....

How would the cops even know if she had this permit she didn't really need.

Did they get a search warrant to search her. Because under the fourth amendment you are supposed to be secure in your papers person and effects.

They can't even make you sign up for a permit. That would be a violation of your first amentment and fourth amendment rights.

They would need a search warrant first. To see if you have your permits that you don't really need.

You're looking at the answer to the question, "Why are cops arresting so many black teens?"

Defiance. Right on down from the regime. Glorified in rap. Indoctrinated from birth on through public school through college to hate cops and Whitey. Toss in social media and MSM and we'll soon have a generation of blacks who've been taught Whitey AND cops are Satan. It's staggering. At this pace, on this course, things will end very badly for everyone. EXCEPT the Elites.

The one black teen claims he was pushed. Whatever. Imagine if he "fell" on the cop. Add another dead black teen to the total.

"Pushed"...yeah, right. The two had obviously planned to circle behind the cop; One was moving too fast for the other and "[pushed" him too much, too fast.

Yup, this incident was real close to yet more black teen deaths via cop-suicide. But then that IS the statist-leftist-media agenda, isn't it? They want to take down the status quo -- across the board. Not just racially, but we see this same hatred, indoctrination, and disruptive vein in the homofascism movement.

But I digress...

THE PLAN: Demonize local LE, then replace it with a more gentle understanding FEDGUB PARA-MILITARY LAW ENFORCEMENT. Oh wait; It will be RUTHLESS.

What's wrong with these animals, howling and screeching and jumping around the cops who are simply trying to maintain order? Just listen to the video when the cop grabs the girl and put yourself in his shoes.

What's wrong" is the lack of parenting, the rejection of any morals and ethics; and a politically leftist media and "communitah leaders" who are goading and sacrificing an entire generation of their young to openly defy authoritah..."fo' da cause."

Yep, I did put myself in the cops shoes. Chaos was rampant. The thug-wannabes feigned circling behind him. He was perfectly justified in pulling his piece.

No, they haven't lost their minds. They know exactly what they are doing. It's called equality. Everyone should be treated equal. If KEEBLER is made to...

1.) Build a separate kitchen in her home

2.) Take a government food safety class

3.) Open her home to random government "health and safety" inspections.

Then why shouldn't she?

A friend of mine told me a story about the time a lady neighbor went to Las Vegas to play the slots. It was during the days when they still used coins in the slots. She had played the slots all evening and had done very well to accumulate a very large bucket filled with coins….many of which were “silver” dollars. She decided to retire from the hotel casino to her room for the night and keep the coins in the bucket with her to resume play the next morning.

She went to the elevator and pressed the up button. The elevator arrived, she entered and pressed her floor button. Just as the door was closing, someone yelled “hold the elevator” and stuck a hand in to block the doors closing. The doors again opened and into the elevator walked an entourage of five of six neatly dressed Black guys in suits.

The lady became very frightened, so frightened that she dropped the bucket of coins spilling them all over the elevator floor. One of the guys who appeared to be the head of the group, said “let us pick those up for you.” She declined and wanted to pick up all the coins herself. The guy insisted, so many hands were grabbing coins from the floor and placing them back in the bucket.

When the elevator arrived at her floor, one guy held the door until they had all coins back in her bucket. She said “thank you” and almost started to run out of the elevator. The apparent leader of the group said “let us walk you to the door, to make sure you are safe.” She said that would not be necessary. The guy insisted and the group walked her to the door, opened it for her and said “Good Night.”

About thirty or so minutes later, there was a knock on the door. They lady was still shaken and asked “who’s there”….not knowing what to expect. She determined it was room service and opened the door to receive a few dozen roses being delivered to her room. She looked at the card and read something like: “Thank you for a wonderful evening. I have not had so much enjoyment in a long time.” It was signed, “Eddie Murphy.”

I cannot vouch if the story is true of not, I can say that my friend told it to me as being true.

One man's "Retirement" can indeed be construed as another's "Welfare" (which is a word we no longer hear for political reasons.) This is exactly why redefining the language and intent, and demanding an egalitarian one-shoe-fits-all enforcement aren't so much a great idea. CONTEXT and COMMON SENSE matter.

The NYS pension fund is far from the definition of welfare. It's kinda like looking at a turd and a Baby Ruth. Both are brown and lumpy... and Bucky would assume both tastes great.

Welfare mutts never pay into the turd they get. I paid into the Baby Ruth I get monthly.

The NYS pension fund is far from the definition of welfare.

I know. But it depends on who is doing the defining....

FOR INSTANCE:

Believing the SAME laws and regs should be enforced for Jane's bake sale *as* with Keebler, is akin to someone saying, "A state pension is free gubmint money -- just like those who receive free gubmint welfare."

You helped me with my car; I sent over Veal Parm. Is that a business transaction? Again -- should the health dept or OSHA get involved? Depends on the degree of officiousness, doesn't it? Be careful what you wish for.

I disagree.

Welfare is derived from 100% pure taxes. My pension is derived from a private mutual fund. So, it's very difficult to compare the two as the same ideology, and here is why. The cookie would have to be the pension or the EBT card.. But they are made from different dough. lol

Look, either the child or the company can poison its customers... looking at it equally. I'll agree Keebler can poison a whole shitload more... but they have deep pockets for doing so. How much civil award would be given to a victim that bought a tainted cup of lemonade from a family that lives paycheck to paycheck?

I personally don't feel LE should be involved at all. It's yer another reason I retired as soon as I qualified. I was tired of being used by every part of government to solve the problems of their departments.

I disagree.

Welfare is derived from 100% pure taxes. My pension is derived from a private mutual fund. So, it's very difficult to compare the two as the same ideology...

It's more a matter of definition (by mob) than ideology. If the mob applies enough political pressure, not even your pension is safe. Already a little kid's freedom to sell lemonade on a corner is denied by the state, as is Mom's cake that support her church.

I realize you disagree with the Pension vs. Welfare perspective as *I* do, but my analogy is exactly that SOME people will have their own reality superseded by the more powerful with agendas. *This* reality remains: ONLY the most extremist statists justify Buffy's lemonade stand or Mom's cupcake sale being subject to state labor laws, health dept laws, and OSHA.

Look, either the child or the company can poison its customers... ...How much civil award would be given to a victim that bought a tainted cup of lemonade from a family that lives paycheck to paycheck?

Ok, I get it; You believe Buffy's lemonade and Mom's baked cupcakes for a church or school should be regulated like Keebler or McDonalds. BECAUSE SO MANY people have been "poisoned" by Buffy's lemonade and Mom's cupcakes, right? Ooops. NOT. You might, but I don't quite believe 'Buffy's Lemonade' is paying the mortgage.

I personally don't feel LE should be involved at all. It's yer another reason I retired as soon as I qualified. I was tired of being used by every part of government to solve the problems of their departments.

Have you even read what you've written? You can't be too tired of gubmint. You're *still* supporting petty over-officious regs and laws by technicality that have NEVER been enforced. UNTIL RECENTLY.

I am giving to naming you in my will.

As per the will can you please consider me for Buick, Thorazine, cane, and hybrid motorcycle? (you can keep the "exhaust pipe.")

Thanks.

I saw the mom and two little girls finally get interviewed on FNC.

The mama said they were selling Country Time lemonade mix and the mama said that the label says it is safe to use for several days without refrigeration. I don't see that on the product info. Country Time is available as a powdered mix or as a liquid concentrate. Pour it in water and stir.

So it wasn't real lemonade at all and had no pulp or sugar or other preparation considerations other than using a clean container to mix it in.

Seems like quite a kerfuffle over lemon-flavored drink mix.

Directions

Since contents may settle during shipping, turn canister over and shake before using. Store in a cool, dry place. Using chart below, measure Country Time Mix into large plastic or glass pitcher. Add cold water and ice; stir to dissolve. Do not store in metal container. Store prepared beverage, covered, in refrigerator. Replace dry cap and tightly close canister to retain freshness. 4 Servings (8 fl oz Each): Use 2 scoops Country Time Drink Mix; 1/3 cup equivalent measurement; add cold water and ice to make 1 quart. 8 Servings (8 fl oz Each): Use 4 scoops Country Time Drink Mix; 2/3 cup equivalent; add cold water and ice to make 2 quarts. 16 Servings (8 fl oz Each): Use 8 scoops Country Time Drink Mix; 1-1/3 cups equivalent measurement; add cold water and ice to make 1 gallon. 32 Servings (8 fl oz Each): Use 16 scoops Country Time Drink Mix; 2-2/3 cups equivalent measurement; add cold water and ice to make 2 gallons.

I notice the official Kraft Country Time website blatantly promotes using their product for lemonade stands.

Maybe they should be sued for encouraging children to engage in illegal business ventures in most areas of the country.

That's how Yukon keeps track of him so they don't get separated when they go out to the store for more sterno and beans.

I wasn't aware of the thread you mentioned. It was exceptionally entertaining, too. I can tell you, for a fact, who "Necessary Critique" was on the mentioned LP thread.

Strange as it may seem, I never expected third or higher derivatives from the initiatives performed. But it makes sense as many posters read from one sight to the the other.

Cops Raid Little Girls’ “Illegal” Lemonade Stand, Shut it Down for Operating Without a Permit

At least the cops found a worthy adversary. Did they get to shoot any dogs in the process? It would be a fitting end to a productive day.
