The police have made to many enemies, hard to expect anyone who has had a kid beaten, a wife or daughter felt up or beat up, a dog killed, by the police to be expected to do anything to help the police. My fear is that soon, the bystanders will join in, in the beating of police, stripping them and taking their guns, radios, badges, wallets, etc. My warning to the inner city police and rioters, keep it out of rural Maine. You over estimate the police and underestimate the people, not all cops are or will be subservient to the masters of the oligarchy and not all 310 million legal residents of the US are serfs and slaves. Citizens, almost all of them minorities, have become more and more belligerent and disrespectful towards authority over the years. And cops, believe it or not, have become more restrained over the same period. I go back far enough to see these changes -- from my personal life, the stories from friends, and what I have seen and read in the media.
