A Mount Pleasant police officer pulled a man from a burning car over the weekend, possibly saving his life.
Cpl. Adam Willis came upon a car engulfed in flames in the Vickerys parking lot about 4:35 a.m. Saturday, according to the incident report. Willis ran toward the car with a fire extinguisher and started putting out the fire before realizing there was a man sitting in the drivers seat. Willis pulled the man from the car and helped him run clear.
Corporal Willis quick actions saved the man from serious injury and possible death, Inspector Chip Googe said.

The driver, a 27-year-old man from Anderson, was sitting in the car while it burned because he was severely intoxicated, according to the incident report. The man told officers he didnt remember the car being on fire.
