Former US congressman and presidential candidate Ron Paul has said that the Central Intelligence Agency is a “secret government” that may be involved in “domestic assassinations.” “They are a secret government,” he said during his program “Ron Paul Liberty Report” on Monday. The CIA is “way out of control.” Paul said Americans should recognize the “corrosive nature of the CIA” and “what we don’t know that they’re involved in.” He noted that when he was in Washington, there was “a black budget, we never knew exactly how much money was spent, that I imagine there is not one person that brings it all altogether.” “I’m not even sure the president is in charge, that’s why I talk about a coup,” he added. “There are certainly a lot of theories about the CIA being involved in even domestic assassinations, and they certainly now are involved in presidential directed assassinations,” he said. “In a true Republic, there is no place for an organization like the CIA,” Paul cited former FBI agent Dan Smoot as saying in 1980s. “I think he’s closer to the truth than a lot of what’s going on today.” The former presidential candidate also hailed some senators who refused on Sunday to allow the National Security Agency’s domestic spying powers to be extended. The Senate missed a deadline on Sunday to renew some provisions of the Patriot Act which allowed bulk collection of Americans’ phone records. “I think it’s is necessary if we are to maintain our Republic, we will have to do something about NSA and the Patriot Act because it’s absolutely contradictory to the cause of liberty.” The CIA and NSA are “totally ignoring” the Fourth Amendment, he added. In 1974 Richard Nixon started the ball rolling in dismantling the Dept of Internal Security, he said, upon finding out just what IS did, "No free nation should have an organization like this". The departments job was to "Eliminate the threat". By July 4, 1976 IS was gone. It was IS officers and certain members of the military and FBI that had the real "Get out of Jail Free" cards. Special Forces, some Marine Recon, and a few others had a card they referred to as the Get Out of Jail Free card, but it really was nothing but a watered down version of IS's card. By July 4, 1994 William Jefferson Blythe Clinton the III had brought it back, only not with the original force or task, now it is a force to kill at the presidents order. I tend to doubt that anyone, even obama, who is a complete idiot, would use the cia to kill on US soil. Not when it has available to him men and now women who are trained killers whose sole function in life is to eliminate the perceived enemies of the president.
Thanks for posting the video. It's apparent that you disagree with Dr. Paul - in fact both of them. While I see many flaws in Rand, I do give him credit for his work in getting rid of the PATRIOT Act. So-called sneak-and-peek warrants have been used in some cases in which surveillance of journalists, activists and even Supreme Court justices was initiated for manifestly unlawful political purposes. It has been used in non-terrorism cases such as a Las Vegas strip club corruption probe, used to harass Bev Harris and the BlackBoxVoting.org website, and even used against a toy company selling an illegal copy of the Rubik's Cube It also nationalized library records; created severe federal penalties for non-violent, white-collar crimes of insufficient disclosure concerning money transfers; vastly pumped up border security; increased the jurisdiction of the Selective Service; and empowered the FBI and other federal officials to use “national security letters” to subpoena information from private actors without anything approaching probable cause and in conjunction with gag orders that prevent the recipients of such letters to tell their attorneys, families, or anyone else that they received them. Further, it redefined “terrorism” to include crimes that previously were never considered to be terrorism; significantly eroded the Fourth Amendment; and did a number of other things to accelerate the central state’s powers and police activities in the name of fighting terrorism. The fact is that even the FBI admits that no major (terrorism) cases were cracked with Patriot Act snooping powers Other agencies are reaping the "benefits" of the PATRIOT Act, most notably the DEA in the "war on drugs". Wasn't The PATRIOT Act Supposed To Be About Stopping Terrorism? We were told that the Act was to be used to stop "terrorism", yet it has been overwhelmingly used instead for other domestic crimes. Good thinking,Paul! We should publish the CIA's spending budget so everyone can know which foreign leaders we are paying off,which foreign scientists we are paying off,etc,etc,etc. The CIA budget HAS to be black,you fool! If it wasn't every intelligence agency in the world would know about everything they are doing by just reading their budget reports. AND....,"Black Budget" is the wrong term. The people in Congress who vote for their budget know where the money is going,it's just not made public. Sounds to me like Ron Paul has now turned himself into a media whore like Hay-Raldo and the other scum. Why is democracy held in such high esteem when it’s the enemy of the minority and makes all rights relative to the dictates of the majority? (Ron Paul,2012)
