Well - that Samsung thing is pretty cool and all that - I have a couple of coolers now filled with ice - in case of whatever... EDIT: The Frigidaire will replace the Amana, which served it's duty for decades.

I have a freezer that belonged to my parents that has been running for almost 60 years with no repairs. It needs a light bulb. And the spring-loaded top lift-assist broke long ago so the lid requires about 30 lbs. of lift to raise it up. Does that qualify as an elderly freezer? I keep wondering how long it will last. Also, will it outlive me? : )
Being that old I have no doubt it weighs more than you do. :o

As I recall, it weighs around 350 lbs. 4 able men could move it but not easily. My grandparents bought those freezers for their 6 newlywed kids from the mid-Fifties through the mid-Sixties. One got hit by lightning. I know two are still running. As I recall, the brand name was RCA-Whirlpool so you know it's very old. Dang, what does that say about me? LOL
I found a close match with a picture of the freezer. The unit was designed for and marketed to large farm families. Here's an auction where some guy is selling two ad posters for these models. I bought a reasonably priced Frigidaire. (From Lowes)
