After riding in the cab all the way to her destination, Bascom jumped out of the cab without paying.

Bascom was found guilty, so Judge Cicconetti gave her a choice: serve 60 days in the county jail or walk that thirty miles within 48 hours.

Bascom began her walk Friday afternoon.

She was also sentenced to four months probation and ordered to pay the cab company $100 in restitution, according to WOIO.

She had the nerve to think a 30 or 60 day jail sentence was a bit extream for a 1st offense... FOR STEALING 100.00 IN CAB FARE.

She, like Piricles and most of my weak, soft, pathetically empathetic peers have been indoctrinated with the ideal that we shouldn't be mean.... and then they repeat offend.

I bet this little criminal never jumps a cab fare again. Outstanding job, judge. We need more judges like you... show those criminals THERE ARE REAL RAMIFICATIONS FOR THEIR ACTIONS.

Every society gets the kind of criminal it deserves. What is equally true is that every community gets the kind of law enforcement it insists on. Robert Kennedy

That's a pretty unique sort of punishment. I hope she has comfortable walking shoes because that's a significant distance - thirty miles. At 3 MPH she'll be walking about 10 hours total in two days.

First of all, it is kind of cowardly and bad protocol/manners to not ping a forum member when talking about them. Also, makes you seem like a loon.

You keep harping on this idea that I am somehow soft on crime. I am not. You are just upset I called you a sociopath for wanting death penalties for almost every crime it seems. Jaywalk - death penalty, etc. I support the detah penalty in some cases but not in all cases or most cases like you do. You stupid sociopath.

And being "mean" is actually unconstitutional (8th ammendment) - we can, as a society firm, and disciplined but not vindictive. In fact vengence enacted by humans on humans is a sin and reserved for the Most High.

But I think when we get into intellectual stuff you kind of check out and get ape like and grunt. Your education or intellectual musings don't go beyond the level of a caller into radio talk shows or some bar room loudmouth.
