(NEWSER) – An assistant pastor killed during an encounter with Oklahoma troopers Friday night played a key role in his own demise, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. In a short press conference today, Capt. Paul Timmons said the shooting victim, Nehemiah Fischer, attacked a trooper and was carrying a gun when he was shot, Tulsa World reports. Timmons also presented part of a dash cam video that shows two officers shouting at the assistant pastor and his brother, Brandon Fischer, who were apparently stuck in rising floodwaters trying to push a truck. "Come out of that water! State troopers!" a trooper shouts in the video. "Settle down, you understand me? Settle down." Two men can be seen entering the video; one rushes a trooper, while the other trooper draws his gun. Meanwhile, Brandon, 41, appeared in district court today via video feed over two complaints: public intoxication and assault and battery on an officer. And Nehemiah's father, JR Fischer, described himself as confused and heartbroken: "If it was going to happen to anybody, it should have happened to me because all my boys are twice the man that I am," he says. The pastor at Nehemiah's Faith Bible Church is also shocked, saying that his 35-year-old assistant pastor "would never charge someone who is an officer. That’s just not him. It doesn’t make any sense." Nehemiah and Brandon were fishing on their dad's property in rural Okmulgee County when their truck stalled and the troopers showed up at around 9:30pm. The troopers—one with a year's experience, and one with eight—are on administrative leave, the AP reports.

The cops lied here. Why should I believe this cop is telling the truth?
The "pastor's" gun was found on the ground after both OHP officers shot him. The "pastor's" brother was drunk....any doubt as to what the autopsy will show about the pastor?
The video shows exactly that. THEY ATTACKED the officer. Stupid games deserves stupid prizes.

Deckard states that's every persons constitutional right... More importantly, everyone has a right to die. It is a cop who has the right to sometimes pick the time and place. (Gotta remember that one).
Well I have no problem arranging the meeting, between them and their maker, if one of Deckards hero's provides me use of deadly force justification through HIS actions towards me. I believe in self defense... and I believe every officer has the same rights. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

What I found interesting about this unfortunate situation is that the father of the pastor was saying all the things you would normally find in a yellow journalism piece, things like his son was perfect and would never do anything wrong. After he saw the video, the father said something like, I can’t understand why he did that. The yellow journalism stories are still floating around on the Internet with the father’s first impression. I had to search deeply and accidently found what the father had to say later after viewing the video. And a couple of people wonder why we continue to call the articles they post, yellow journalism.
lol... and this fella lost a son and is smart enough to change his tune after seeing the video... but we have posters here too ignorant to see the light. I won't mention names. I'll just give initials... D (eckard). lol
