A police lieutenant in Tennessee was not arrested after shooting at a group of 20 children playing volleyball hear his home. The children were not on his property, but the mere sound of them playing at a nearby church was enough to enrage Michael Wilson, 58, to the point of opening fire on them with a BB gun. A 911 caller reported that a man with a gun was firing at the children… “We were just playing volleyball and all of the sudden I just heard a ‘gun-click’ sound and I was just freaking out because it was so fast and then all of sudden, something hits my leg,” one of the children, Addison Caldwell said. “My daughter came running in here saying ‘mom something got me in the back of the leg’ and yelling there’s a man shooting us and of course I’m like ‘oh my gosh what’s going on?’,” Caldwell’s mother, Angela Gulley, recalled. A total of three children were shot by the BBs, but when officers arrived they didn’t open fire on him like John Crawford or Tamir Rice, who never fired a shot from their BB guns. Instead, the intoxicated lieutenant was placed on paid administrative leave while the department investigates the shooting. He was charged, and must appear in court on June 3rd, but he was not arrested in spite of the fact that he opened fire on children. Watch the local report below… “He’s a lieutenant and I don’t think that’s right for him to be doing that,” Caldwell commented on Wilson’s bizarre and frightening actions. “It just kind of hurts. I’m still in shock that we have someone in our county that would hurt our children and be in a position that was supposed to protect us and not bully us.” So what’s that you say about people getting into law enforcement to help people? Maybe, just maybe, there are those who get into positions of power so they can abuse and hurt people.

He was charged, and must appear in court on June 3rd, but he was not arrested in spite of the fact that he opened fire on children. When you are "charged" and have a date in court... YOU HAVE BEEN ARRESTED. There are two kinds of arrest. Custodial arrest and non custodial arrests. Each states Criminal Procedure Laws dictate what offenses can be handled non custodial... yet this bright YELLA journalism wants you to think he wasn't "arrested" at all buy titling it with "Cops Refuse To Arrest Officer", because he was non custodial arrested. Deckard should pay Stone another 50 bucks for posting a lie. With all this said, if this idiot did shoot kids, with a BB gun, for ANY REASON, on or off his property, while in an intoxicated condition, he should be hanged by the neck until dead, after his constitutional trial by jury or judge.

He wasn't arrested at the scene or taken in at the time. His cop buddies cut him a break.
The cop was wrong. The article was yellow journalism. Do the numbers. Use the Deckard Rule of Math to figure that out. Wait....Don't bother!
The article is based on a lie... if he has a court date, TO WIT; he was arrested. Deckard should be flogged for his deception. Every pothead head in NY, that's ARRESTED for Unlawful Possesion of Marijuana (UPM) is arrested the very same way. No custody, no cuffs and ride to the station. Hundreds of thousands of potheads arrested the same way this idiot LE officer was... but it's a conspiracy because he's a cop. NYS CPL 150.75 " 1. And there was an aggravating factor. They were selling drugs around minor children. Many big sentences for drugs have an aggravating factor, like gun possession. Is it smart to sell drugs out your front door when your babies are behind that door?
I would agree with you if she was selling crack. Not weed though.

I would agree with you if and when weed is legalized... but there are many many drive by shootings, burglaries, home invasions and assaults in marijuana dealing homes. I processed a scene once where a weed dealer was mauled by a pit bull, because of a bad weed deal... and he was put in a car to die, and did die. All over weed.
