Authorities say a hostile crowd assaulted a Florida police officer while he was trying to arrest a combative man.

Melbourne Police say the officer was arresting 22-year-old Phoenix Low of Melbourne early Saturday on a city ordinance violation of carrying an open container of alcohol.

Phoenix Lowe / Melbourne Police Dept.

A police statement says Low became combative and attempted to run before the officer wrestled him to the ground.

Cmdr. Vince Pryce says a crowd gathered and began striking and pulling at the officer, who took out his Taser and told “the aggressive advancing crowd” to get back.

Pryce says the officer suffered cuts and bruises.

Along with the ordinance violation, Low was charged with resisting an officer and battery on a law enforcement officer. He was released late Sunday from the Brevard County jail. (2 images)

first we have civil unrest, then we have people fighting back, and then the shooting starts.

What is happening now, more and more, is people fighting back.

I would not want to be a cop today, for I think this is going to be a very hot summer. And once the shooting starts, it is really hard to stop it.

I agree, and since he is white, this had to have been a crowd of white people joining together to stop the cop.

Blacks do this all the time, but whites don't.

America is a whole 'nother country than it was back in the 1960s.

It's easy to imagine it just dissolving away.

Which means everything is going along according the the NWO plan.

To create a new world order and political system, you first have to destroy the existing system so the public is clamoring for a new system to start to to "restore order and make the streets safe."

Out of chaos comes anarchy, and out of anarchy comes The New World Order.

The New World Order can NOT take power as long as America exists as a Constitutional Republic with a Bill of Rights.

The New Word Order/Global Government Inc will certainly have a new Constitution for the whole world to live under because there is nothing dictators love more than establishing rules for the peasants, but you can bet your bippy that there will NOT be a Bill of Rights. Maybe a Bill of Obligations for the serfs, but no rights other than the right to obey.

They're both the same thing in Gatlin Bizzaro world.

Anyone not in lockstep with him and is different from the mainstream scares the poor deluded little man.

Good thing they didn't show the guy's tattoos - Gatlin would have really been peeing himself with fear.

Don't be ignorant. What we have now is a society that's grown so dysfunctional, that any behavior is considered accepted. These same people you defend are the same people that condone gay marriage, homosexuality, divorces, not fulfilling parental responsibility... and immoral conduct.... you know, shitbirds. I see that you'll defend such filth as long as they try to hurt LE.

Society won't ever allow anarchy, Bob... and breaking laws of society, resisting arrest and shooting cops isn't a revolt. You've been drinking too much Deckard Kool-Aid

Every society gets the kind of criminal it deserves. What is equally true is that every community gets the kind of law enforcement it insists on. Robert Kennedy

Then they should go mob their legislature or city council. Cops don't legislate laws regarding alcohol consumption, they merely enforce them.

Cops swear to uphold the Constitution of the US and the state they are policing in. The Constitution is the SUPREME law of the land, making all others subservient. Therefore if a state law violates the Constitution then it is no law at all.

Some day when you have noting to do, look back and see how many, what percentage of the population, carried out the first war of revolution. I think you will be surprised to see how few it takes to overthrow a corrupt police dept, city g0vt, county g0vt, state g0vt or even the federal g0vt.

Politicians, for the most part are cowards, a few die and the rest cave, unless they are republicans, then none have to die only a serious threat and they cave.

LE should not treat population like if they were in Iraq or Afghanistan.

And it does not work well over there.

What section of the Constitution prohibits states and local governments from making laws concerning the consumption of alcohol?

The guy was arrested for having an open container of alcohol, there had to have been some sort of law on books in that jurisdiction. And that law would have been passed by either the state, county or municipality. Your argument seems to be that such a law violates the Constitution, so I'm curious as to just which part it would violate?
