The U.S. Constitution does not extend rights to the states (or individuals). The U.S. Constitution lists the powers the states have ceded to the federal government -- all other powers are retained by the states.
States have always had the power to define marriage. That power was not ceded to the federal government.
I read your post #6 which says, "I owned a newspaper by the name of the section of the US Constitution, tat gives states that right."
A) I assume you mean the 10th amendment.
B) It reads, "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
C) The 10th amendment says nothing about rights.
D) It says what I said. The power to define marriage remains with the states since that power was not ceded to the federal government.
