Title: Elderly Couple Honk At Off Duty Cop; Cop Breaks Man’s Nose, Smashes Teeth Out With Gun

Uniformed officers arrived and "laughed and joked" with attacker

An elderly couple in St. Louis County found out what happens when you honk your horn at a cop this past weekend, when the officer drew his gun and pistol whipped the man in the face, while wrestling with the woman as she attempted to defend her husband.

Describing the harrowing incident to local reporters, Janet and Donald Akers noted that they were unable to pay their respects to Janet’s deceased mother on Mother’s day, as they were beaten up by the cop before they could get to the graveyard.

Mrs Akers was driving the car, when she was suddenly rushed upon by a large unmarked black truck. Fearing that the truck was going to collide with their vehicle, she honked her horn.

“To let him know, hey, you’re coming over to hit us, and then he backed down, got behind us, and honked and honked and honked, all the way through the intersection,” said Janet.

Not knowing that the driver of the truck was a cop, Mrs Akers pulled over to attempt to diffuse the situation, and suddenly found herself and her husband under attack at gunpoint.

“I didn’t know if he was going to shoot us or what,” said Donald, who admits he was in fear for both their lives.

However, the off duty cop used the butt of the gun to pistol whip Mr Akers in the face.

“He hit me right across the nose with it, broke my nose, my sinus cavities, broke my teeth.” Akers told reporters.

The officer then began fighting with Mrs Akers as she tried to stop the attack. Bystanders were alerted by the struggle, and jumped in to break up the fight.

Mrs Akers called the police, and officers arrived, but simply made the situation worse.

“The police came, and went over directly to him. And they were all talking, laughing, joking around,” she said, adding “We feel like they knew him right off the bat.”

Instead of calling for medical attention for Mr Akers, and reprimanding the attacker, the uniformed officers instead treated the couple as if they were criminal suspects, and searched their vehicle.

“They never searched that guy’s truck. He had the gun,” Donald said.

“I thought they were going to shoot my husband, and I was really scared for that.” Janet further noted, fearing the cops would seek retribution against the couple.

The St Louis County Police refused to release the name of the off duty officer, saying that an investigation into the incident is ongoing.

My bad, should have been " Donut withdrawal "

Or could be 'roid rage.

It would explain why most cops have no self-control and view themselves as gods.

Steroid use among police officers a widespread problem

Professional athletes are not the only prominent members of society with major drug problems. According to a recent report by AOL News, as many as 25 percent or more of police officers are regularly take steroid drugs, which has led to a rise in the number of assaults and other cases of "roid rage" occurring against citizens by those in law enforcement.

Lawrence Payne, a spokesman for the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) recently told AOL News that steroid use among cops is a "big problem" and that "it's something we shouldn't ignore." After all, numerous investigations have revealed an alarmingly high rate of use, including an investigation in New Jersey that pinned 248 cops and 53 firefighters with steroid use.

Steve Watson, Infowars...

Steve Watson, Infowars, is doing his dastardly deed of practicing yellow journalism once again where he is reporting yet another one-sided case here to present only evidence favoring the conclusion he wishes to channel everyone to arrive at, and ignoring or downplaying the evidence against it. In inductive reasoning, it is important to consider all of the available evidence before coming to a conclusion. Infowars never gives us all available information, Inforwars always presents only a one-sided argument. One-sidedness is fallacious in contexts where we have a right to demand objectivity.

Slanting can be one of the most insidiously deceptive booby traps, by simply leaving out relevant information that can lead people seriously astray. Infowars attempts to monopolize and control what information people receive in order to dictate opinions like some sort of pseudo totalitarian government. It's almost impossible to detect such one-sidedness if you lack other sources for the relevant facts….which is why I am here watching you, Deckard. I will undertake the task to straighten you out so that you behave better and develop a more kind attitude, especially towards our dear friends….the cops.

He who knows only his own side of the case, knows little of that. His reasons may be good, and no one may have been able to refute them. But if he is equally unable to refute the reasons on the opposite side; if he does not so much as know what they are, he has no ground for preferring either opinion. ~ John Stuart Mill

I don’t have access to that information, but it should be necessary to hear the other side before anyone assigns blame. The facts from the sources on the other side usually can only be heard in front of a grand jury or in a courtroom. So, naturally it is prudent for intelligent people to reserve judgment or any condemnation to assign blame until after all the facts have been gathered and presented. You of course do agree with this…right?
I look forward to reading (the other side of the case).
I do too….but you can be assured that we will never read about the other side of the case from Infowars if it goes against their agenda.

"Yellow journalism" to Gatlin means stories that are not reported in the mainstream news.

Nah, yellow journalism is Inflammatory and irresponsible reporting that exploits, distorts, or exaggerates the news to create sensations to promote an agenda. Yellow journalism is a type of journalism that presents little or no legitimate well-researched news and instead uses eye-catching headlines and sketchy information while glossing over facts. Techniques may include exaggerations of news events, scandal-mongering, or sensationalism. By extension, the term yellow journalism used today as a pejorative to decry any journalism that treats news in an unprofessional or unethical fashion. I decry such journalism and condemn those who use it to try and justify biased opinions and actions.

" it should be necessary to hear the other side before anyone assigns blame. "

True enough.

But it is very difficult to imagine a justifiable reason why a cop pistol whips a couple of elderly senior citizens.

With just a modicum of common sense, one would have to conclude that the officer's actions were "extreme", "over the top", and not justified.

" you can be assured that we will never read about the other side of the case from Infowars ". Maybe, but that is irrelevant.

I am going to wait to hear it from you.

Man suffers broken nose, teeth in South County road rage incident

No. FOX News reported what actually happened.

YOUR yellow journalism source reported that the man was assaulted because he honked at an off-duty cop. YOUR yellow journalism source doesn't know that was the reason.

But that's typical of the headlines from your yellow journalism source -- "Man Shot For Doing 5 Miles Over the Speed Limit".

YOUR yellow journalism source reported that the man was assaulted because he honked at an off-duty cop. YOUR yellow journalism source doesn't know that was the reason.

Oh right, I forgot - the victims must have lied because cops never assault someone for no reason.

From the FOX News affiliate story :

As they exited I-255 at Telegraph Road, Janet Akers honked her horn when a black Dodge Ram was heading into her lane. She explains, “To let him know, hey, you’re coming over to hit us, and then he backed down, got behind us, and honked and honked and honked, all the way through the intersection.”

Akers gestured to the driver of the truck to pull over in this parking lot, so she could explain why she honked in the first place. Then, she says, “His wife jumped out of the truck. She came over, started yelling at me.” At the same time, Janet Akers recalls the driver got out of his truck and approached their vehicle, armed with a gun.

Donald Akers says, “He held the gun first, I didn’t know if he was going to shoot us or what. But instead, he hit me right across the nose with it. Broke my nose, my sinus cavities, broke my teeth.” Once that happened, Janet Akers admits she fought back. Bystanders broke up the fight.

So it appears that you lied when you said that the original source I posted does not know what occurred.

Good god man - is there any act of unprovoked violence perpetrated by a cop on innocent people that you won't excuse?

Akers gestured to the driver of the truck to pull over in this parking lot, so she could explain why she honked in the first place. Then, she says, “His wife jumped out of the truck. She came over, started yelling at me.”

Not only is the cop portrayed here a psychopath, but apparently his wife is as well.
