Darquan R. Lee

A handgun was found in a Bridgeton man's "anal cavity" during a strip search at the Cumberland County Jail on Friday, police said in a news release.

When officers arrested 21-year-old Darquan R. Lee, of Pamphylia Avenue, on a contempt of court warrant Friday afternoon, they searched him and brought him to the Bridgeton police station, according to Lt. Thomas Speranza, of the Bridgeton Police Department, in the release.

But at the station, suspicion that Lee might be hiding something arose when he asked police to use the bathroom, but then "refused" after officers told him that they would pat him down and search the bathroom "before and after he used it," police said.

It was at this point officers thought Lee might be hiding "contraband" in his "anal cavity," according to the news release.

Upon transferring Lee to the Cumberland County Jail, the police officers told jail personnel they thought Lee might be hiding contraband, officials said.

It was during a "strip search" that jail personnel discovered a .25-caliber automatic handgun "shoved in his anal cavity" and "between his butt cheeks," authorities said.

The handgun was also reported stolen from Alabama, according to police.

Lee was additionally charged with possession of a weapon; unlawful possession of a weapon; certain persons not to have a weapon and receiving stolen property, according to officials.

He is currently being held in the Cumberland County Jail without bail. (1 image)

"The handgun was also reported stolen from Alabama, according to police."

After being contacted by the police, the handgun owner said, "Keep it."

Whoa! With all those charges I bet he gets at least 60 days supervision.

He will plead guilty to receiving stolen property in exchange for dropping all the gun charges.

Happens all the time. Our "strict" gun laws are being used only as leverage to get guilty pleas on lesser charges.

How many are charged with a gun crime and actually convicted of a gun crime? I bet it's like 5%. Which is why criminals continue to carry guns.

Our "strict" laws in general (according to cop haters and libtards) are used for pleas and bargains in the court. The court and corrections part of the criminal justice system is a joke... however some agenda driven drug lovers on LF would have you believe people are in prison for just a joint.

The biggest reason I retired from LE as soon as I qualified, was because I was tired of arresting the same shitbags over and over again... because they were left on the streets through plea agreements, the comical "drug courts" and probations and parole. I was being USED by the libtards public. They were too weak to punish a criminal so they depended upon me to keep arresting the same turds... I refused to be used.

When a some scumbag rapes a child after he's been convicted 20 times of drug, sex, larceny and burglary charges in the past... the society deserves this monster.

Every society gets the kind of criminal it deserves. What is equally true is that every community gets the kind of law enforcement it insists on. Robert Kennedy

I knew of two very rural sheriffs who decided not to run for re-election because they were so frustrated with the chickenshit county attorney that wouldn't prosecute anything. Rural prosecutors are averse to going to court, considering their small tax bases and the potential for high costs, especially in serious crimes or a death penalty case.

LEO do have their frustrations with the system and its results whether in dense Blue states or sparse Red states.

think again, this is what I said: Ah, one of Maine's 1%.

In Maine only 1% of the population is black. That percentage will probably be less with the next census.
