Title: Eagles signing Tebow on Monday

He’s back.

After a two-season exile, the man who took the Broncos to the divisional round in 2011 before being summarily dumped for Peyton Manning will have a new job in the NFL.

Per Jay Glazer of FOX Sports, Tim Tebow will sign with the Eagles on Monday. (Yes, Glazer has the scoop, even though Tebow works for ESPN.)

Traded to the Jets in March 2012, Tebow had a single, disastrous season in New York. Cut by the Jets, the Patriots gave him a look in the 2013 offseason, training camp, and preseason. Tebow didn’t make the 53-man roster, and he hasn’t been heard from again.

The Eagles gave Tebow a workout on March 16, and they reportedly would be inclined to sign him only if Matt Barkley were traded. Barkley hasn’t been traded, and the connection never made sense; with 90 roster spots in the offseason and plenty of quarterbacks needed to distribute the ball during practice sessions.

Tebow arrives with the opening of the offseason program in Philadelphia, rejoining Mark Sanchez and a depth chart that also includes Sam Bradford, Barkley, and G.J. Kinne. With Bradford still rehabbing a torn ACL suffered last August, Tebow becomes as a practical matter the fourth quarterback who is able to participate in practice session that will begin after a two-week lifting/conditioning period.

I'd love to see Tebow back in action again. He deserves it.

How is a QB (with NO seasoning) who led his team into the playoffs, and QB'd his team to a AFC Championship game by ANY measure considered a "failure"?? ANSWER: the know-it-all know-nuthins, anti-Christians and atheist whiners deemed it so.

Yeah - I like the way they set up the story too.Traded to the Jets in March 2012, Tebow had a single, disastrous season in New York.

The Jets had a "disastrous" season (6-10 )- Tebow didn't.

In fact it is my contention that if they HAD played Tebow, it's likely they would have made it too the playoffs.

It could be that Tebow just doesn't have the pro moxie to play at the top level of the NFL. Like the Michael Sams didn't have the chops to play pro ball.

We'd never have even heard of either one except that one was the Virgin Quarterback and the other one was the First Openly Gay Football Player. In other words, the most attention they got as players had nothing to do with their professional sport.

People get emotionally invested in these sideshow issues because of all the media coverage, most of it intended to get fans to react viscerally rather than rationally.

I followed Tebow closely when he was in Denver. He is a great athlete but definitely not a NFL quarterback. He probably could have made it in the NFL at another position (e.g. - receiver) had he had the background.

I'd also followed Tebow's QBing exploits closely, and watched NFL football for a good 50 years.

NEWSFLASH: Tim Tebow IS a Quarterback. That's the position he's excelled at. True, he wasn't nearly the prototypical QB. But he IS an "NFL QB." You don't go 8-3 if you're not an "NFL QB. It's impossible. OR win several games during Crunch Time through sheer will. What kind of "expert" dismisses ANY quarterback who wins 8 out of his first 11 games, including a playoff game? Moreover, people somehow forget that Tebow was a rookie with virtually NO seasoning. He doesn't QB a single game for the Jets, yet the media proclaims HIM a "disaster"?? On what planet is that the case...when you don't even play??

Tebow has some obvious mechanical problems, as well as problems reading defenses. Again, typical. He's made strides to improve his mechanics; *Only* experience will help any QB read defenses.

For SOME reason, teams don't want to give this guy a chance to become the winning QB and leader he is (*cough media*) And THAT reason is Tebow's open Christian faith (somehow deemed "polarizing" by the heathen media) worn on his sleeve.

So now the situation is such that what we have is the Liberal Media not only deciding which laws are enforced and changed (*cough Indiana*)...as well as which players are quarterback.

Indeed. Whatever Tebow lacked that season in "NFL quality QBing" he made up for in leadership and intelligence. Tebow is Christian, conservative and white to boot. That is his 'problem.'

I only heard wonderful gushing from the leftos at ESPN and NFL.com when the dog beater and killer QB got out of jail and trying to make a come back.

If I remember correctly there was some weepy eyed come back vids the NFL promoted in his comeback. With the press given Tebow, you would think he shot a litter of puppies and used their skins to make footballs.

Leftist rubbish. Will be poured in the lake of fire with all the other filth of this world.

All valid observations as well as THE truth of the matters. And isn't especially galling to hear that fake meme that Tebow is "polarizing"?? Is he too humble? Too much into personal responsibility and sacrifice? Or is it his discipline in not being a man-whore?

Tebow's very existence threatens and reminds the im-moralists that good men...good white men (who run well), and good openly Christian men make for excellent leaders. They just can't have that narrative hemorrhaging in public. It might encourage too many young people emulate such a man.

You remembered correctly. Vick was admired and forgiven for his noble "rehab" and remorse by those sanctimonious jock-sniffing ESPN/ NFL.com hypocrites. Vick even mentioned "God" as part of the reason for his remorse. All well and good, but why was the mention of God in that context ok? And WHY was a creep like Vick someone to get all weepy eyed and excited over? Wouldn't have anything to do with a racial bias, would it? Is it ONLY former-villains whose humility, remorse and penance is acceptable?

With the press given Tebow, you would think he shot a litter of puppies and used their skins to make footballs. Leftist rubbish. Will be poured in the lake of fire with all the other filth of this world.

Beyond insane is the way we should regard this unjustified hatred and animus for Tim Tebow. They'd HATE him for petting puppies. That's how sick the Left is. He's a proxy target for Jesus Christ and ALL Christians. That hatred and resentment is based solely NOT on his performance, but on the fact that he's a popular, unabashed Christian athlete performing in a high-profile position, on a huge stage. How dare he!!?! In this perverse culture, we're only supposed admire and emulate the imperfect, the whores, the liars, and gluttons.

My theory is that Tebow and his sincere demeanor makes the hateful and habitually sinful feel....ashamed. They want nothing more than to see him fail, get hurt, and get tripped up by a single sin unnecessary. So then they can pull out the "HYPOCRITE!" card and feel better about themselves.

(sorry for the length of rant)

So, according to you, a bunch of NFL teams would much rather lose than to have Tebow leading them to victory. Because they don't actually care about winning.

I think that if they thought he could win, he'd be their #1 QB. But they don't so he isn't. Instead, he's #4 QB on a so-so team.

And Tebow and Sams are still very similar in that their fanbois drive all the coverage of them.

Absolutely the case. EVERY NFL team is making money hand over fist, regardless.

The collusion to blackball Tebow was more important...even more important than profit. The Left is more than willing to sacrifice profit (*cough MSNBC*) in exchange for advancing an agenda. In case you were wondering, the NFL has become a vehicle for political and social change. Tebow and his popularity were a deterrent to that goal.

I think that if they thought he could win, he'd be their #1 QB. But they don't so he isn't. Instead, he's #4 QB on a so-so team.

Depth charts mean nothing at this point. Frankly, I believe politics and the Left's agenda is going to dictate whether or not Tebow makes the team or plays -- NOT his skill level.

And Tebow and Sams are still very similar in that their fanbois drive all the coverage of them.

Uh, no.

The media's goon-squad of hitmen has driven the coverage of Tebow. ONLY to ridicule and marginalize him and his base of fans (of whom coincidentally are largely comprised of white Christians and/or God-centric people.) Btw -- how and why do you think "polarizing" became THE one word used by the media to describe Tim Tebow? We've noted the very same media phenomena and parallels in the coverage Palin. WE refer to what should be called, "Pavlov's Media Dog."

In Sam's case, there ARE no "fanbois" to speak of -- other than counting the MSM's fake, contrived, forced interest and non-stop gay promotion. His "fanboi" base is 3% of the population who buy Sam's jersey AND Leftist/gay-centric media(of an NFL team for which he failed to make, nor has ever played a single game.)

Tebow's retains "fanbois" for good reason -- his accomplishments are legend. His ethics and morals, and commitment to excellence and discipline are greatly admired.

OTOH, Michael Sam's has accomplished NOTHING. His main "accomplishment" is his admission that he is a sodomite. Yet is ridiculously promoted by a media committed to a queer wannabe contrived, non-existent "NFL career."

You sure mention the word "white" a lot. Like Tebow is the Great White Hope or something.

You didn't do the math. Assume it's only 2% of the population but that all of them are ready to line up and buy a Sams jersey and be his fanbois. That could make him the biggest player in the NFL by the time you toss in some guilty white libs desperate to support the latest gaiety. Except Sams doesn't have enough skills to make it in the NFL. He'll have a minor career as a gay sports icon, Dancing With The Idiots, Oprah's venues, write a book or two, maybe get an announcer job. If nothing else, he can do some porn.

Really? How many times is considered "a lot"?

You may not know this as one who hasn't followed sports too closely, BUT, sports has become VERY PC.

As a matter of fact, it's been noted that Tebow's style as a "running QB" has been resented by many pundits (and many ex-NFL players) -- both white AND black. They apparently feel threatened because that style has traditionally been considered the sole domain of a "black"-styled running QB. It's a style that pundits and experts have long routinely criticized as "un-winnable" for a pro NFL QB as opposed to a "pocket-passer" (usually used to describe the white "style" of QBing.) Tim Tebow made it work. Oooops. But what is NOT discussed is the component of his leadership and courage that's required.

Yes, I *did* do the math. That 2 or 3% of queers aren't usually huge sports nut demo, so how many are actually going to buy his jersey of a team he did NOT make? Sure, we can toss in the gay-friendly, "enlightened" psychologically coerced libs and leftists into that mix of "fanbois" of the un-accomplished Michael Sam. However I'll reiterate -- *his* Fanboi-dom (or Cult) is based SOLELY on their mutual identification of same-sex homosexual preference. Penis-worshipers are not so much NFL/football fans as much as social-change queers looking to support their own crusade, "Moses" and role model.

He'll have a minor career as a gay sports icon, Dancing With The Idiots, Oprah's venues, write a book or two, maybe get an announcer job.

I'll (not) go out on a limb and say Sam's career will be as a network sports "pundit" or host of some homo-run/themed show. And yes, a future author who may have his own TV series. A bio flick will definitely be in the works.

Since he's done Dancing with the Stars it should make him fully qualified to host a homo spin off of it. It might even rival CNN or MSNBC for viewership. (I can just imagine what the costumes would look like).
