Liberals tried with all their might and fury to shut Memories Pizza down because its owner prefers not to cater to a hypothetical gay wedding, but unfortunately for them, their mission failed. Not only did Kevin OConnors Indiana pizzeria earn $842,000 in donations from tens of thousands of supporters, but it also reopened after an eight-day hiatus to a gigantic crowd of enthusiastic supporters.
Within an hour of the pizzeria reopening at around 4 p.m. Thursday, every table was full and six customers were waiting for carryout orders.
The amazing thing is that OConnor, a 61-year-old father of eight, hasnt changed his stance on the issue, all the protests and hoopla notwithstanding.
Id do the same thing again, he proudly told the Washington Times. Its my belief. Its our belief. Its what we grew up on. Im just sorry it comes to this because neither one of us dislike any of those people. I dont hold any grudges.
The fact is that gays are still completely welcome to stop by and dine at his restaurant. All he asks is that he not be forced by law to violate his religious principles and cater to a gay wedding.
But according to liberals, hes a bigoted homophobe who deserves to have his business demolished.
Sorry, liberals, but apparently the citizens of Walkerton, Ind., disagree.
