In the 19th century cowboy gambling "hells" od places like dodge city the top gambling game was NOT poker as depicted in Western movies and television shows but FARO, (generally a type of layout casino game like modern Craps and Roulette but played with playing cards rather than dice or a spinning wheel and ball. This game was generally played by betting on a layout depicting the cards of the spade suit which cards of any suit would "win" or "lose" when drawn from a special faro dealing shoe or box an abicus like device called a casekeeper was used to determine which cards were still in play. The last three cards in the box were used for a special lottery style bet called "Calling the Turn" in which the exact order of their drawing had to be accurately guessed to win. Faro was the leading gambling game in the west from the 1850 "gold rush" days till the end of legalized frintier gambling in 1910 in Nevada. When Nevada Gambling was re legalized in the 1930s Faro was replaced with games with a larger house percentage like Craps and Blackjack. Faro was mainly notorious for two things its low and often non existant house percentage for a casino game and the rampant cheating that Faro bankers often resorted to because of it. However the house percentage in the game was so low that Faro bankers often lost their banks and wquipment despite their cheating through unforseen bets on the part of the players. HOWEVER DESPITE THE FACT THAT 99 PERCENT OF THEM WERE CHEATS 19TH CENTURY FARO BANKERS HAD MORE ETHICS IN THEIR LITTLE FINGERS THAN HILLARY CLINTON AND RUDY GUILIANI CAN CONJURE UP IN THEIR WHOLE BODIES!!!!

Why is it that 19th century people look so much healthier than your typical Wally-World shopper?
Fargo banks may have, but 19th century Republicans and Pinkertons didn't.
