In an appearance on “The Hugh Hewitt Show” Tuesday night, former Vice President Dick Cheney said that President Obama’s actions on the world stage exemplify a president who wants “to take America down.”

Cheney also touched on Obama’s comments on Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, telling Hewitt that Obama is the only post-World War II president to believe that America doesn’t need “to play a leading role in the world.”

The former vice president made the appearance following the announcement of a new book on American foreign policy, co-authored by himself and daughter Liz Cheney, will be released in September.

HEWITT: Let me play for both of you a cut from earlier today. The president sat down with an NPR reporter who asked him about Scott Walker’s statement on this show last week that he’s repudiate the emerging Iran hologram — I don’t call it a deal — on day one. Here’s what the president said.

PRESIDENT OBAMA: Any president who gets elected will be knowledgeable enough on foreign policy and knowledgeable enough about the traditions and precedents of presidential power that they won’t start calling into question the capacity of the executive branch of the United States to enter into agreements with other countries. If that starts being questioned, that’s going to be a problem for our friends and that’s going to embolden our enemies and it would be a foolish approach to take. Perhaps Mr. Walker, after he’s taken some time to bone up on foreign policy, will feel the same way.

HEWITT: Vice President Cheney, you’ve been boning up on foreign policy since you entered the House 30 years ago. What do you make of that statement.

CHENEY: Well it starts from a flawed presumption on Obama’s part. For most of the last 70 years since World War II, we’ve had a bipartisan record in this country between Democrat and Republican. Harry Truman, Jack Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Ronald Reagan, Dwight Eisenhower, the Bush’s believed America had to play a leading role in the world and needs to maintain first class military capability to do that and occasionally use it. That the world works best with U.S. leadership. The first president, really, who doesn’t — no longer believe that fundamental truth is Barack Obama. What he’s saying, his criticism of Governor Walker — I think probably Governor Walker welcomes it. It’s almost like a paid commercial. I heard today as soon as the statement came out from Obama criticizing the governor, he immediately sent out to all of his supporters. I’m glad he did that. It’s a mark of weakness of this president that he’d say such a thing.

That's what politicians of both parties do.

Funny how a foreigner perceives the relative Bush-Cheney B-Slaps of America as more destructive than 0bola-BiteMe's mugging.

Well Bob, I'd blame the faux leadership of the RNC for our side's treachery and treason. They are merely taking orders from their globalist Puppetmeister masters.

A distinction must be made that the Dem Party is now ostensibly the Communist Party and utterly hostile to America and the constitution, with every single member dedicated to destroying every last vestige of Capitalist-Christian based America.

I don't think the same can be said of the Republican Party proper (or of at least 1/3 of its members.) Otherwise, we'd already have been taken down, and you and I would now be FEMA Camp compadres. OR WORSE.

Number of airplanes that crashed into America on Obama's watch? Any new Economic meltdowns? Obama is a stumbling president but he has yet to pull of an Iraq invasion debacle. That you still slack for Bush/Cheney is on you.

Number of airplanes that crashed into America on 0bama's watch?

Is that what you call 0bola's scorched earth policy? A "watch"? HA! "Oooh look -- I just killed the coal industry!! AND enforced a $700 billion dollar "Stimulus Program" but have nothing to show for it!"

You're very funny. You claimed Cheney, a Veep, "took America down." With what authority?

Any new Economic meltdowns?

You mean with the "hope & change" economy 0bola promised to destroy? He has 21 more months to wreak further havoc.

0bama is a stumbling president but he has yet to pull of an Iraq invasion debacle.

Lol -- "stumbling"?? Really??

Is that what you call FUBARing the entire Middle East with his engineered "Arab Spring "? Usurping the authority and will of several Arab nations? Attempting to over-throw several nations' governments? Collaborating with and arming several Muslim terrorists groups? Turning Africa and the Middle East red with innocent blood? And is it called "stumbling" when your co-Commie brethren is doing all he can to start WWIII in the ME? Naaah -- not much of a "debacle," is it?..

Oh...and why did 0bola release 5 high-level murderous Muzzie thugs? If he released them up your Greek azz, you wouldn't be quite so trite, would you? FAR more American servicemen have died in Iraq and A-Stan than under Bush/Cheney's watch. Know why? Because American deaths PLEASE him. Just like you.

You let him off too lightly for his abandoning of Iraq and his upcoming debacle in Afghanistan and for the Arab Spring disasters in Egypt and especially Libya.

The full death tool from Obama's recklessness and incompetence may exceed that of Bush's ill-conceived invasion of Iraq.

Iraq was not abandoned - we were kicked out - the rest of the disasters would have been approved and indeed probably set up by the Neocons during the Bush years.

And what set it all off is the Bush invasion of Iraq.

No authority at all but a lot of criminality. Bush fucked up Iraq and made Iran Iraq's dominant power. 1,000 years of American occupation can't get Sunnis to like Shia in Iraq and turn into Swiss style republicans. That you stupid Americans don't know this fact is on you which is why a fetal alcohol syndrome damages baby like Bush gets to be president.

He didn't even try with Iraq. He was looking to run with his tail between his legs so he could campaign on it for 2012. And look at the results.

And what neocons did or did not approve during the Bush years (or their support of the Obama's disastrous Arab Spring) is irrelevant.

You don't get to use Bush as an excuse for every failure. Obola has tried to play that as a get-out-of-jail card for anything and everything. "I'm not responsible because Bush" is just stupid.

I can declare the Bush years set up the coming Middle East crisis. I don't think Bismarck or any genius diplomat from past history could have managed the coming collapse in the ME.

Also, try how in Iraq? After 8 years? and how much treasure? All that to civilize uncivilized sand diggers?

President Obama Wants ‘To Take America Down’

That's obvious. And for 60 years our higher educational system and our mass media have been churning out mentalities just like him. The intention had been to produces mentalities so twisted and contorted that they laugh at, and reject, the most obvious realities under the banner of superior intellect.
