“In The Words of the Enemy” is a regular feature in Dabiq magazine — a sort of “Who Wore It Best” for the scary fundamentalist set — and Santorum is featured in the latest issue, quoted about his concerns that ISIS is growing ever more credible in the Muslim world. Identifying him as a “Catholic crusader and American politician,” Dabiq quoted Santorum thusly: “This is a caliphate that has been established and that means they are calling people from all over the world to come and fight this battle. As long as they hold ground and continue to expand that ground, more and more will come. The fact that we are delaying means that the Caliphate continues to exist. They are not losing ground. They are not being discredited in the eyes of the Muslim world. They will get stronger. … This is really important to understand. The reason the West had a thousand year war with Islam is that Islam was ever expanding. When Islam began to contract, it collapsed, and the caliphate was eliminated. Now they have established a caliphate. They are dead serious about expanding it. Unless we begin to take back that ground and make this caliphate just irrelevant in the eyes of the radical Muslim world, we are going to have a bigger and bigger problem.” Santorum’s reaction to being featured? “Well the difference is ISIS actually quoted me accurately compared to the New York Times, which is sort of a remarkable comment on the state of the media today,” he told Fox News. Last we checked, though, the New York Times wasn't in the business of beheading anybody. Otherwise: Totally legitimate comparison.
He’s delighted, of course.
Sometimes, it pays to have the right enemies. So you can’t blame Rick Santorum, the former Pennsylvania senator, for being pretty happy that a magazine published by ISIS has labeled him an “enemy” of the radical Islamic terror group that is battling for control in Iraq and Syria.

Sometimes Santorum doesn't get much credit even when he's dead right. For all their influence and appearances on the talk show circuit, McStain and Miz Lindsey don't describe the Caliphate and its appeal and growth this succinctly in small bites to the general public. Witty and accurate.
