Town of Southport , NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office arrested 19 teenagers on Monday following a fight last week at the Elmira High School in the town of Southport. Around 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18, several students were involved in what appears to have been a planned fight that took place in the main lobby area of the high school, according to deputies. Several law enforcement agencies were called to the school to assist the school resource officers, including New York State Police, the Elmira Police Department, as well as additional sheriff’s office units. The arrests were made Wednesday, March 25 after law enforcement and school officials reviewed security footage from internal cameras, as well as footage that was captured on students’ cell phones. Of the 19 people arrested, 18 were female and one was male, deputies said. Three 15-year-old students were arrested. Some students were charged with riot in the second degree or disorderly conduct, and in some cases, both. Those 16 years of age and above will be appearing in Southport Town Court at a later date. The three students considered minors will appear in Chemung County Family Court at a later date. No pictures, but the names say it all. Gosh, I hope these arrests don't interfere with their getting into a good college to become marine biologists.
They do. There's a black prof at Harvard that studies how naming affects people for their entire lives. He isn't a big fan of these distinctly African-American names.
My favorite is Percephaine Tyler -- a god-awful massacre of the name of the Greek goddess.

Those don't strike me as the usual white-Amish-riffraff names we usually see. It's a puzzlement. "Diamond Colon" sounds like some sort of fiber supplement.

I have assisted all those agencies from time to time. This is close to where I did my 20. That's a mostly white county, too... and people wonder why 25% of our population makes up 70% of our prisons. lol Next time you hear a Hollywood star at the Oscars say it's racist that our prisons are disproportionately filled... just remember that every race REAPS WHAT THEY SOW.
