"The Great Communicator" was a one of a kind, wasn't he? If Cruz gains any traction and finesses his way through the RNC gaunlet, I believe he's a legit threat to the Dems. He's poised, gutsy, knowledgeable, sharp, an excellent debater, and possesses an even temperament. I can see him destroying any opponent in his way -- and especially the Dem opponent.
