A group of California legislators has filed a complaint against a lawyer who proposed a statewide ballot initiative that would allow gays and lesbians to be "put to death by bullets to the head." Matthew Gregory McLaughlin, an Orange County attorney, filed the so-called Sodomite Suppression Act on Feb. 24 with the state's Office of the Attorney General. McLaughlin's proposed law would also ban gays — whom he refers to as "sodomites" — from holding public office. Under his proposed law, people found guilty of spreading "sodomite propaganda" would be fined $1 million or see jail time. But the state Legislature's LGBT Caucus is asking the State Bar to review McLaughlin, who is listed as active and permitted to practice in California. They believe he's violating the State Bar's requirement that attorneys act in "good moral character." "We are shocked and outraged that a member of the State Bar would so callously call for the disenfranchisement, expulsion and murder of members of the LGBT community," the caucus wrote in its complaint dated March 10 and obtained by NBC News. "We believe that this measure not only fails constitutional muster, but that such inciting and hateful language has no place in our discourse, let alone state constitution," it said. Anyone can file a prospective state ballot measure at a $200 fee, and the public has 30 days to respond before the attorney general publishes a summary of the measure, according to state rules. McLaughlin, who could not immediately be reached for comment Friday, faces an uphill task to actually see his proposal on a statewide ballot. The initiative must gather the number of signatures equal to 5 percent of those who voted in the last election for governor — or about 366,000 valid names.

I read an interesting discussion on another forum about a month ago. It went something like this...if gays/homos/lesbos have been in the closet for centuries/millennia, then they had to act like normal folks and get married and have families. These days, they are treated as normal functioning human beings in their own lifestyles. Therefore, they can't reproduce by living as they do. Leaving the adoption option out of the discussion, it then led to this 'possible' conclusion. If they continue their gay lifestyle, then the likelihood of future gays being born is minuscule. And they'll basically die out. I don't know if there is a gay gene or something along those lines. Anyway, I found the discussion thought provoking and am sharing it here FWIW.

Not really. Not every heterosexual gets married and has children,or even wants to do either/both. These days, they are treated as normal functioning human beings in their own lifestyles. I hadn't even considered that,but it may well be true to a limited extent. There will still be bi-sexuals re-producing,and they will carry and pass on the gene. My best guess is the percentage of bi-sexuals in the general population is a LOT higher than the percentage of people who are strictly homosexual. Or maybe it could just be that they are the loudest and most heard from because they are always ranting about having a "choice"?

Uh, no....he says nothing about "gays." Only "sodomites." And anyway, why is this a major "news" story based on some unknown lawyer (not even a legislator)?? Q: How many Americans would indeed endorse this measure for the adult rape/sodomy of their sons and daughters? I'd assume....millions. Moreover, sodomizing any minor is does NOT meet any criteria of "rights" under the freedoms of the Bill of Rights." It is an egregious violation of the victim. That said, this story is nothing but more Leftist propaganda in an attempt to quash their own pro-homo propaganda. It's another "All Baptists-are-Fred Phelps" equivalence. Are YOU a "homophobe"?? Prepare to be broad-brushed as a "bigot" for failing to fall in line and promote sodomy-for-all as well as "gay" marriage. Ok, so what else is proposed in this guy's “Sodomite Suppression Act”?: Every offender shall be fined $1 million per occurrence, and/or imprisoned up to 10 years, and/or expelled from the boundaries of the state of California for up to life. d) No person shall serve in any public office, nor serve in public employment, nor enjoy any public benefit, who is a sodomite or who espouses sodomistic propaganda or who belongs to any group that does.... The text shall be prominently posted in every public school classroom. Frankly, I don't see much of a problem for the above. The halls of Academia would finally and belatedly be swept down the sewer where they belong as a sane society began to recover.
This proposal will never even make a ballot; I've got the suspicion that this attorney doesn't even exist. The homo-agenda is pulling out all the stops. More Goebbelian propaganda.
