Winnemucca, NV Last year, Sgt. Lee Dove became the poster child for asset forfeiture in America. After video footage of his extortion racket became public and a subsequent photo depicted him smiling as he showed off the cash he stole from innocent people, Americans became that much more aware of asset forfeiture.
Now hes in a different photo, his mugshot, and that should go equally viral.
In something that youd expect to see in a third world country, dashcam video from one of Doves drug interdiction stops documented his legalized theft. No drugs were found, but that didnt stop the deputy from grabbing the cash.
How much money you got? Humboldt County Deputy Dove can be heard asking in the video.
Dove can be seen dropping cash on the hood of the car.
Thats not yours, is it? said Deputy Dove as he salivated over this innocent mans cash.
Thats mine, said his victim.
Well, Im seizing it, said Dove just before threatening to steal more from the man if he refused to be robbed.
The video and the photo which was taken afterward set the Humbolt County Sheriffs Department down a long road, full of federal lawsuits from previous victims.
You can see that sickening video below.
The irony here is that while Dove was assaulting people with a gun and stealing from them, while on-duty, he escaped all accountability. But when he assaults people with a weapon, while off-duty, he is then arrested.
According to police, Dove, 47, was arrested in response to a dispatch call about a man with a gun at a gas station. He was charged with drawing a deadly weapon in a threatening manner and assault with a deadly weapon.
He was booked into the Humboldt County Detention Center on Tuesday, and his bail was set at $22,500. He has since been released.

First I'll state this... (So you don't spin any point I make, your specialty). If this officer is found guilty of the charge, by a jury of his peers, he should be terminated from employment, his certifications to police revoked... AND EVERY DIME HE's PAID WHILE SUSPENDED AND AWAITING HIS DUE PROCESS, PAID BACK. Then incarcerated.
Now... I'd like to point out that the police OBVIOUSLY policed the police. Your yellow journalistic articles you indoctrinate with normally states that never happens. Well, does it? I guess it does.
The top part of the article, regarding drug interdiction stops, insinuates that Dove was breaking laws... but you failed to post any proof he was indicted or even investigated for such an allegation... And don't claim his peers will protect him... obviously his peers have no problem arresting him as pointed out by YOUR ARTICLE... regarding the off duty incident.
Is that what an anarchist calls "due process"? lol

If that happens, he'll be back with another department within a year.

Americans who have no experience with, or knowledge of, tyranny believe that only terrorists will experience the unchecked power of the state. They will believe this until it happens to them, or their children, or their friends.
If that happens, he'll be back with another department within a year.
Run for reelection... pass laws to prevent that, if there isn't any already in place. I'll support it.
In NY, you can't be hired as a LEO with a felony conviction. Most won't look at you with any convictions

The Humbolt County Sheriffs department became infamous last year after infuriating dashcam footage showed Dove conducting literal highway robbery.

At that point Dove, and his superiors who knew about it and defended him, should have been put of trial and sent to the slammer for 20 years wearing their uniforms.
