Is Glenn Beck a quitter?

Just a week after threatening to terminate his membership in the National Rifle Association over concerns about one of its board member’s alleged ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, the radio host is ditching the Republican Party.

“I’ve made my decision — I’m out,” Beck said on his show Wednesday. “I’m out of the Republican Party. I am not a Republican. I will not give a dime to the Republican Party. I’m out. I highly recommend – run from the Republican Party. They are not good.”

Beck cited the GOP’s performance on Obamacare and amnesty for his decision to break ties with the party, reported Huffington Post. Republicans are guilty of “torpedoing the Constitution,” he charged.

“They set us up. Enough is enough,” he said. “So I’m done with them.”

Beck’s farewell to the GOP echoed his threat to leave the NRA, and in both cases he encouraged his listeners to follow his example.

Last Thursday, Beck expressed his concerns over tax hike fighter Grover Norquist of Americans for Tax Reform and a candidate for the NRA’s board of directors.

“I will tell you I am so concerned about this, Frank, and I am not an expert on Grover Norquist by any stretch of the imagination. But I’ve heard enough that makes me concerned enough, and I hope the leadership of the NRA hears this and every member of the NRA hears this: If this man is re-elected and confirmed on the board, I may drop my membership in the NRA.”

That threat to leave the NRA and the invitation of others to join him resulted in the NRA announcing the next day it would conduct its own investigation into the charges.

People are waking up. When they do, they leave the GOP. It is good. As long as the GOP sucks the oxygen out of the room, there's no real hope for a middle class conservative party. The Republican party has to be mortally wounded and fall apart for something better to rise.

So, if you think your country is being lost and you want to save it, get out of the Republican Party.

He'll change his tune soon enough. Didn't Rim Jobinson once say something similar?

So, it doesn't matter if he snorted coke as a youth? It was a long time ago, a youthful indiscretion? Kinda like people who frequented sneakeasies during prohibition? Kind of a cute story, eh? Well, how about all the people whose lives have been destroyed by being arrested for the felony of drug possession? What about the millions of people who are rotting away in your filthy drug infested prisons at this very moment?

Well, by God, if you people insist on electing another cokehead as President, you damned well better throw open all the prison cell doors and free every man, woman, and child you're holding on drug charges. And if you're gonna elect another drug felon as President, you'd better rescind each and every one of your unconstitutional drug laws now on the books, including all of your unconstitutional search and seizure laws, and your asset forfeiture laws, and your laws that enable your unconstitutional snooping into our bank accounts and cash transactions. Well, I don't know whether to laugh or cry. You people are sick! Conservatives my ass. You people are nothing but a bunch of non-thinking hypocrits! You're a shame and a disgrace to the Republic!

And, I, for one, am tired of taking orders from cokeheads and felons! Elect another one and I'll tell you what. I'll be ready for war! It'll be time to take up arms and run the filthy lying bastards out!

Guess Beck would prefer a President Evita Clinton ,or Elizabeth Warren. There's plenty good reason to quit on the feckless GOP . But the alternative is worse. I prefer an insurgency from within.

Yep, we're pretty well stuck with the two party system, so the only solution is to change the GOP from within, by demanding candidates committed to restoring constitutional law.

The ‘Lesser Of Two Evils’ Con-Game

The moral relativism of the “lesser of two evils” philosophy has been draining the heart and soul of America for decades. Many of us in the Liberty Movement understand that it is nothing new, and have come to expect the abusive and emaciated logic it entails from time to time.

However, over the course of the past year it has become apparent to me that the talking points and propaganda that drive the hypocritical worldview are being utilized on an even grander scale than ever before.

Now, one of the first tenets or rules that a person learns when delving into the Liberty Movement is that there is no such thing as political parties in America today. There are no conflicting interests in Washington D.C. There is no “grand battle” between left and right for the minds of the masses. It is a sham. A con. A fantasy. A false paradigm.

In reality, the leaderships of both fraudulent parties support essentially the same methodology, and that methodology could be summarized thus: Centralize everything, globalize everything, control everything, grow government power, reduce the effectiveness of the citizenry, turn the public against each other, rob them while they’re distracted.

If an American does not understand this dynamic and how it is used to dominate the ebb and flow of our culture, then that American knows nothing. He is lost…

We've seen it happen . Reagan ran against the establishment . tpaine points to tea party and libertarian movements already having some impact . On the opposite side ,I'm sure the Dems are thrilled that there was a "Progressive "takeover of their party . It does happen and will happen again. The GOP beltway establishment are going to step aside or the party will go the way of the Whigs.

That won't work. It's the system itself that is broken.

535 legislators cannot adequately represent a country of 300 million. It could represent the interests of the 50 states if the state legislatures had any representation, but they don't as per the 17th Amendment.

If the US were broken up into about 5-8 smaller countries, that might help as it would create some degree of competition between the various countries for the citizens to choose between.

Changing the voting system to the "Approval" voting method would do good, I think, as it's far better than the very archaic "vote for only one" system we have now which guarantees a 2 party monopoly.

There are other ideas that may help as well, but the only solution to the clusterflak of a nation we have now is thinking completely outside the box. Writing legislators and such is an exercise of insanity.

Good luck with that one!

Conservatives even took over the Republican Party and seized control of Congress for the first time in 40 years.

Look at what happened to the conservative activists and office holders afterwards. The GOP and the DNC joined forces, and forced almost all of them out of office in one way or another, and still present a united front to any conservative challengers.

The only way to fight power is to defeat it,not join it.

We've seen it happen . Reagan ran against the establishment .

Yup,and what happened?

The GOP Country Clubbers forced him to accept that evil bastard Poppy Bush as his running mate,or they would refuse financial and political support to his campaign.

Poppy took over after 2 uber-successful terms of Reagan, and immediately started undoing every single gain that had been made.

Reagan later said that accepting Poppy was the worse mistake he ever made.

The GOP beltway establishment are going to step aside or the party will go the way of the Whigs.

They will never step aside because doing so would be the end of their power and access to the Treasury, and they know it. The only way they will ever leave the levers of power is if and when they are dragged away, kicking and screaming in protest.

I prefer an insurgency from within.

I'm with Andrew Breitbart's philosophy as well. The only option is to take back the R Party. Third parties do not stand a chance. I've voted 3rd in a couple of elections. Never again.

The TEA Party has made major strides since it's inception in '09. We've made amazing progress in such a short time, the only political movement to do so. We've had tremendous victories all across the political spectrum. We've changed the rhetoric. We've seated some great Constitutional candidates. We add more each election.

Yes, we've had losses. That is to be expected. We are fighting against the Democrats as well as the GOPe and often, the Libertarians as well. Still, we're winning. Slow going, but the only other alternative is AR II.

Please don't divide the vote. That is what gave us 4 more destructive years of the Obama administration. Romney wasn't my first, second or third choice, but he would have been a good place-setter while we worked on a better candidate for the next election. Barry's 2nd term has deeply entrenched evil and the destruction of this nation. Even the best R candidate will have an almost impossible task to begin to undue the damage they have wreaked on we the people.

We need a fighter this go-round. So far, only Cruz has shown he is willing to fight-really fight. He hasn't budged on his positions that he ran on. I don't agree with him on everything, but I have no doubt that he will kill Obamacare. He will undo Obama's illegal EOs. He will appoint credible people to his cabinet. He will appoint only Constitutional Justices to the SC. (Stay alive, Ruth...I don't want to see Holder appointed.)

Staying home is what gave Obama the victory. Please unite early on the best candidate. Not perfect, but the best choice. We need to vet them carefully. It is obvious that the GOPe wants Jeb, barring that, Walker. Only unity will defeat the GOPe.

I completely understand your opinion and the method you use to reach it. I do not agree with it though.

Romney would have been worse than Obama, because the TEA party would have been destroyed and totally co-opted instead of energized.

Voting for the lesser of two evils is the act of madness we were warned about. "Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result".

If you are looking for a savior, he ain't here yet. If you are looking for a way out of this mess our country is in, it is within each and every one of us. We must turn to God and repent. We must live righteous lives to the best of our abilities. We have shunned He who blesses the nations, and He has removed the "hedge" of protection from us. It is a spiritual war we are enmeshed in, not political. Satan himself is the father of politics, and he cannot be beaten at it by a great person entering the arena. That person will have his reputation destroyed, or he will be physically destroyed. The darkness that is in all of us, the Enemy knows.

I don't know if you have faith or not. This is not an attempt to preach, it is just a message. Accept it as it is meant, write me off, or call it BS. It is just my opinion and I am not a prophet nor do I play one on the keyboard. I read what you write, agree with much of it and write in the spirit of respect and honest opinion. Please take it in that manner.
