To: Pericles (#1) At one time, I listened to an olde called, "Black is the Colour" ... truly, the female artist was awesome and I can not find her anywhere on the Internet. I did not record her. This was my error. She was a presented artist on Ireland.com at one time about five years ago or so. "Black is the Colour" is specifically concerned with the loss of a loved one and has been represented by many, Many, MANY artists worldwide. I just can't find this single recording, anywhere. I find myself at odds with myself with my personal failing while asking you to help my quest. Perhaps you know how to find it? Ciara Considine, 6 years ago: Salmon's Leap, 2007: They are all better than the sleepy version of Danny Boy I'm tolerating this morning. I suppose the great Irish tenors are a thing of the past. I see various free versions on YouTube but the official ones are HD ($2.99) and are 2:09:00 and the other free ones are much shorter. However, Wiki sez: Republic Pictures agreed to finance the film with O'Hara and Wayne starring and Ford directing, but only if all three agreed to first film a Western with Republic. They did and after completing Rio Grande they headed for Ireland to start shooting. One of the conditions that Republic placed on Ford was that the film run under two hours. However, the finished picture was two hours and nine minutes. When screening the film for Republic executives, Ford stopped the film at approximately two hours in, on the verge of the climactic fistfight. Republic executives relented and allowed the film to run its full length. It was one of the few films that Republic filmed in Technicolor; most of the studio's other color films were made in a more economical process known as Trucolor. Maybe the free ones are copies of cut-to-time-slot versions for broadcast on cable or for TV network versions. It hits home because of my European roots - dowerys and such. I love the old lady that gives John Wayne a branch to beat his lady with which sounds Islamic like but really its old world values (women subserviant to men).
