This is an account sent to GISD WATCH by a TEACHER that I will NOT identify because I BELIEVE they would be persecuted by Lynne Cleveland. The Lack of Trustees DO NOT REALIZE WHAT THEY ARE DOING TO THIS DISTRICT. If they do not wake up and put their pride aside and listen to the parents and teachers of this district, they will DESTROY this district. And I believe that to be a FACT. "Two well respected Weis teachers and the principal met with Mr. Proctor last month about the $250 each teacher was promised to spend on supplies, incentives, etc. According to Proctor, there was a BIG misunderstanding about the money. One of the teachers told Mr. Proctor how unfair this was and that many teachers had already gone out and purchased items with their own money with the intent of turning in their receipts for reimbursements. Teachers left, principal was told by Proctor that he did not want "that" teacher at the school board meeting that night explaining the situation to the Board. Principal told Proctor that the teacher was an adult and that she could not control what she did. This bullying has got to stop.
Also, teachers were outraged at Central and Weis yesterday afternoon at the faculty meetings. Watkins and Polzin could not answer most questions. Teachers walked out. Weis teachers are outraged that they will not have a chance to stay at Weis. Teachers do not want to change schools. Each faculty is like a family and they don't want to be split up.
Those idiots on 39th have no clue about loyalty and dedication to a school and district. GISD is just a stepping stone for these airheads until they can find something that pays more money. Watkins and Polzin told teachers that the jobs at the magnet school have already been posted and that they have 30 applicants so far from outside the district.
Therefore, the rushed meeting yesterday was held. They also said they will be accepting students from outside of the district to fill the 400 spots for the magnet school."
READ THAT AGAIN: THEY ALSO SAID THEY WILL BE ACCEPTING STUDENTS FROM OUTSIDE OF THE DISTRICT TO FILL THE 400 SPOTS FOR THE MAGNET SCHOOL.
From OUTSIDE the district?? Are you kidding me? What about our own students in GISD - the ones for which Lynne Cleveland and the Lack of Trustees reconfigured the district ? What about them?
And the $250 for each teacher came out of department funds? We're robbing Peter to pay Paul when we cut a check for $30,000 to Erik's law firm in June for ONE MONTH? We can't even give our TEACHERS AN EXTRA $250 EACH?????
NOT ACCEPTABLE. ABSOLUTELY NOT ACCEPTABLE.
