Emperor Zero could always declare himself Dictator for Life.
There would be no place he or his family would be safe, should he try that.
Every society gets the kind of criminal it deserves. What is equally true is that every community gets the kind of law enforcement it insists on. Robert Kennedy

Because we do not want anybody to do what Ehud did.
America is not Israel. We are not chosen by God. Our land is not particularly sacred, and does not serve a particular holy purpose. We are not ruled by God.
We're just Gentiles, Christian Gentiles, living under the commandment to not murder. Ehud's murder was justified because of who the King of Israel was: God. There is no justification for political murder in the USA, and we don't want it here. No.
Help me out, and save me some time. In a nutshell, tell me what he did.
In the days of the Judges, after the Israelites had taken much of the land of Israel from the Canaanites, but before the monarchy of Saul was established, Eglon was a non-Israelite king. He ruled over part of the land of Israel by force for several years. He was greedy, grasping, and very fat.
Ehud was a left-handed champion of Israel. He met with Eglon, said he had a secret message, and so went into Eglon's inner sanctum, behind locked doors, to tell the secret. Once there, Ehud pulled out the sword he'd concealed for his left hand, and drove it through Eglon's guts. The text tells us that Eglon's fat closed over the hilt. Ehud then escaped off a balcony.
So, Ehud killed the king by surprise. We're not Israel. And that's not the way that we solve political problems, or should want to.
