Title: Man Killed By Pit Bull While Trying To Help Dog’s Ill Owner

The incident occurred Sunday night at a home on 14th Street in East Wheeling. Lt. Phil Redford says police believe the dog’s owner suffered a heart attack. The other man was attacked by the dog as he tried to resuscitate the owner. The man who suffered the heart attack has been identified as 63-year-old David Wallace. His roommate, 62-year-old Roy Higgenbotham, was attacked by the dog. A police department news release says both people were pronounced dead at a local hospital. Their names haven’t been released. A female companion was also home at the time of the incident. She was later found by first responders on the roof of the home. Authorities believe she may have been trying to get away from the dog. Ohio County Animal Control removed the dog from the home and placed it in quarantine.

When I was a boy, my parents would send me down Once - upon returning from Wildwood, my dog - Dad took me aside to explain it to me - Freckles had got into the garbage - (chicken bones) - And so it was. Just like later - my good friend's dog 'Otis' - At least my dad told me the truth. So I think...
Maybe the dog and his owner had a DNR pact. Y'ever think of that?

Well, that is instinctive for a canine. Even so, I'd probably do the same. No dog lasts around me if they so much as snarl at a child or try to bite them. Lots of wonderful animals out there need a home. Don't keep the bad ones around. Darwin can't do all the work by himself.
Bottom line is that Freckles was a good dog until She was a pleasant dog - until she wasn't.
