Gabby Giffords supports the kinds of background checks that her attacker passed. Last week Breitbart News had the audacity to point that out and the liberal media went crazy with faux rage. The NRA retweeted the Breitbart story and the long knives came out in force. The bottom line is that just because you’ve been shot in the face, you can’t get away with being a hypocrite. But once you put yourself in the spotlight and make yourself the face of a political organization (or a tool for one), the gloves come off. You don’t get a pass when it comes to the truth. You don’t get to make public pronouncements calling for restrictions on the rights of the people who had nothing to do with victimizing you. At least not without having your ideas and policy proscriptions scrutinized and criticized. Gabby Giffords got shot and now wants to push for policies which would have done nothing to prevent her own injury. The fact that the media doesn’t pick up on this is telling. And Giffords is not alone in this. Richard Martinez, parents of the victims of the Newtown massacre, Trayvon Martin’s parents, and others have become tools for the gun-ban industry as well. While we are saddened by their losses and we should pray continually for them, we cannot sit idly by and say nothing when they use their status as victims to attack our rights. Their grief doesn’t trump my rights. Their grief doesn’t trump truth and logic. Their grief does not give them license to be hypocrites and liars.

You’re not untouchable. You’re not free to say and do what you like simply because someone thinks it’s insensitive to criticize you. Sure, we in the gun-right community are willing to cut you and your family some slack initially as you grieve and come to grips with your loss. We understand it’s human nature to lash out.

The lesson of all these massacres is that liberals tend to massacre others with their guns and that being on mood-altering prescription drugs or voting Democrat makes you a danger to the public with guns. As for Gabbymania, I think it's fallen flat. The gungrabbers at Handgun Control Inc. took up Jim Brady as their spokesmodel years back. HCI wasn't too successful so they morphed into the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, apparently thinking they could lure some Republicans into their gungrabbery (a real word I just made up).
In my previous post, I mentioned the machinations of libs and a handful of Republicans like Giuliani who cooperated in attempted gungrabs. I recalled the photos we used to post at TOS on every Rudi thread to beat down the Rudi lovers, kinda like clubbing baby seals with a baseball bat. So I went to search for them at DDG, couldn't find them. I tried Google Images, couldn't find them even though I know for a fact that is where we found them back in 2007-2008. Then I recalled having saved some of them on an old Photobucket account. I went to look and the photo I was after was still there as RudyBradyBunch.jpg. Here are some others from my Rudi archive, just to jog a few memories of those days at TOS. It is obvious that Google has "disappeared" this info. The old Soviet propagandists quite often rewrote history to omit details, make leaders out of favor disappear, etc. The USSR was quite primitive compared to Google's ability to instantly "disappear" facts and photos.

It was before your time at TOS. To say that TOS opposed Rudi would be a vast understatement. The Rudi supporters would get mad and even opus out at TOS. One of them, (was it nopardons or howlin? I'm thinking it was nopardons), started her own message board of Rudi refugees and martyrs. It had kinda crappy forum software. However, we eventually learned that it had a secret set of message boards just for forum members. I can't recall the name of the forum for the Rudi Martyrs. It's almost on the tip of my tongue... Maybe some of the other oldtime TOSsers can recall it. A history page about TOS and various hijinks (including the Giuliani Purge). Ah...I just happened to have a few pages of TOS squirreled away in archives. I think that the Rudybot exile forum was named WideAwakes.com or something like that. So if you referred to them, you might also use the term "WAnkers.
It almost goes without saying that the Rudybots weren't having much fun at TOS in 2007. Every time Rudi won some dumb early poll, there was a small massacre at TOS on a thread about it.
After the chorus line drag photo, I am now heading to the supermarket for 5 gallons of Clorox to wash my eyes and brain with:)

Pretty detailed history on that link. I was there from 1998 - 2004. I've seen most of the Guiliani pics you posted above. Wonder why they were purged from Google.
I've read before that there are back channels to Google that VIPs can use to downpeddle or disappear unwanted pages/photos from the search engines. And if you can't find it at the search engine, what exactly will you do? In this case, I happened to have some material squirreled away in a dusty Photobucket account or we wouldn't have found them. You don't have to erase the originals. Just the search engine links to them. Poof. The old Soviet censors would be green with envy at the efficiency of our system. Inconvenient facts/photos? Zap, gone in a millisecond.
C'mon, how much can a Republican drag skit offend anyone? It's along the lines of the old Milton Berle drag skits from the Fifties. The most offensive part is just how stupid it is. And how ridiculous they both look.
