I wouldn't be surprised if it sweeps him to re-election. With Barky sending his own election crew to try to defeat Bibi in the upcoming election, this political battle royale between Bibi and Barry is assuming epic proportions.

Suddenly, Israel is the weakest armed power in the region? And let us say for the sake of argument the end is really nigh for Israel. The USA has zero treaty obligations to defend Israel (I know that is hard to believe but it is true). Why is Israel more special than say Cyprus?

Israel won't allow there to be peace in the ME. If Bibi wants a war, let him put jewish boots on the ground. We don't need to sacrifice any more american lives for israel.
Why should israel be the only ME country allowed to have nukes?
Maybe because Israel is the only nation in the region that faces real, actionable threats to its existence by virtual all of the other nations in the region. Maybe because it is the only nation that continues to receive incoming from some of its neighbors. Maybe because its nukes are a real deterrent to escalted hostilities.
