Mark Salter, who was a top adviser on the 2008 presidential campaign of Sen. John McCain (R), is not a fan of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R). On Thursday, Salter went on Facebook and posted an article criticizing a comment Walker made about the Islamic State jihadist group (also known as ISIS or ISIL) at the Conservative Political Action Conference. Salter added a colorful comment. "I want to like him but Scott Walker is kind of a dumb ass," Salter wrote. During the 2008 race, Salter became known as an outspoken staffer who sent reporters colorful missives Politico dubbed "Saltergrams." He did not respond to a request for comment about his post from Business Insider. At CPAC, Walker pointed to his experience weathering massive protests against his administration when he was asked how he would handle ISIS if he were president. "We need a leader with that kind of confidence," Walker said. "If I can take on 100,000 protesters, I can do the same across the world." Walker is a top Republican contender in the 2016 presidential election. In recent weeks he has gone from a relative dark horse to leading several polls. View Salter's Facebook post below:

Meh. Walker is just finding a way to work "unions" into every speech, much as Giuliani couldn't utter a sentence that didn't contain the words "9/11" on the campaign trail in 2007. It's just a campaign finding its legs and drilling its strongest appeal home with voters and activists. This is pure free media so Walker is establishing his brand before someone else does. But let's just review who this clown, Salter, does support and work for as a way to measure his opinions of how ready a candidate is to be the GOP nominee in any election. McCain Greatest Hits, circa 2008. And he's had an unbroken string of similar nonsense ever since. Partying with terrorists in Syria, inciting yet another civil war after a coup in Ukraine, his and Lady Lindsey's humiliation when they went to Egypt to beg the military to leave Morsi in power, his appetite for the death of innocents is endless. There is literally no war the Stain does not crave to fight with every fiber of his being. His warmongering is so extreme that it has to be considered a form of mental illness.
More background on Salter, a failed speechwriter/pundit for the Stain in 2008. HotAir, today: Following McCain’s failed campaign, Slater spent much of his time attempting to rehabilitate the image of his friend and former employer. In 2011, Salter wrote a meandering, discursive essay on how George W. Bush had failed to meet the expectations of posterity when he chose Dick Cheney as his running mate. Why re-litigate history 11 years after the fact? “He criticizes my former employer, Sen. John McCain, for ‘losing his temper’ and abruptly ending a meeting with Cheney about his legislation concerning the treatment of detainees,” we discovered in paragraph nine. “ I can say with confidence that McCain neither lost his temper nor abruptly left the meeting.” And while Salter may be perfectly qualified to opine on the wisdom associated with selecting Republican presidential running mates, he is perhaps less well-equipped to comment on what a winning coalition of voters looks like. That did not stop him from criticizing tea party Republicans in 2013. “You’re a minority. You’re a minority in Congress and you’re a minority in the country,” he lectured the tea party wing ahead of the ill-fated government shutdown of 2013. “So go ahead and follow Sarah Palin. Let’s put the Senate on Cruz control. Let’s shame those squishes to the firing line. Filibuster the bill. Let Harry Reid pull it off the Senate floor. Shut down the government. I think you’ll find the Democrats you expected to yield to the persuasive power of your kamikaze tactics are only too happy to test your resolve.”
Given that this loon thought McLunatic would have been a good president,that's damn close to being a "Walker for President" campaign slogan.

You might recall the name Mark Salter for the role he played as a speechwriter for Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) when he ran for president in 2008. In the years that followed his involvement on that failed presidential bid, Salter eventually evolved into a commentator and political analyst.
