Title: Ex-NBC Bureau Chief Backs Up O’Reilly’s Account of Falklands War Riot

Two former CBS reporters have strongly disputed Bill O’Reilly‘s accounts of what happened one night when they covered a riot in Buenos Aires, but on The Factor tonight, O’Reilly brought on a former NBC News bureau chief who backed up his story. Don Browne was the NBC News Miami bureau chief at the time, and he oversaw the network’s Falklands coverage. And Browne told O’Reilly his account was accurate. As opposed to some of the other accounts, which have to some extent downplayed the danger, Browne said the situation “got progressively more intense” and there were demonstrations in Buenos Aires every day. Both O’Reilly and Browne recalled a “very intense situation where people got hurt” and how “this was an extremely violent and volatile situation” where reporters were in danger. O’Reilly also spoke with Mediaite’s own Joe Concha, who wrote a column this week questioning the motivations of O’Reilly’s attackers. Concha told O’Reilly that Mother Jones is in the business of throwing red meat to progressives, and beyond that, the story isn’t making much headway anyway.

But a "war riot" is not a war zone because it lacks two organized and trained armies. O'Reilly was not in a war zone. He was in a riot. That said, this is a tempest in a teapot compared to all the lies various media figures and pols peddle on a regular basis. Like the new VA head lying about being in special forces to a homeless vet a few days ago which seem much worse because that happened this week, not 30 years ago in a minor war lost by Argentina.
I read that, it was disappointing.
What's even worse is the VA's bureaucratic overreaction to its new 'Choice Card' program, where any vet who lives over 40 miles from a VA facility, can go to his local facility for health care.. For some strange reason, the VA bureaucracy is fighting this program, tooth and nail.. I got my card almost six weeks ago, and still cannot sign up at my local hospital.
I can only assume you are being sarcastic. You know quite well why they are resisting which appears to be the most real work their top staffers have done in years.

Absolute control over veteran health services is the key to their cushy sinecures at the VA. They can and will fight tooth and nail to keep that monopoly and they don't care how many vets have to die. I would say they are quite willing to let vets die if they can try to cook up some scandal to maintain their stranglehold on veteran medical care.

Hey, provocateur, your efforts to try and provoke trouble and cause dissention has failed again. Look at what your buddy, Engberg, had to truthfully say back then: An Engberg report, also released by CBS on Monday, said police fired guns with tear gas and plastic bullets. He said in the report it was unknown how many people were hurt but at least some were seriously injured.
Your new found friend, Engberg, said things never got that hot in Buenos Aires. When he thought he had a chance to throw O’Reilly under the bus, he sees fit to call the riots “tame”….Engberg now says “it was the chummiest riot anyone had ever covered.” What a bunch of hypocrites you and your ilk are.
