Turns out I have brain cancer that moved there from my lungs. Prognosis is poor. I had brain surgery a couple of weeks ago. Of course, being me, I intend to fight hard to the very end, and beat the odds. I may well be around for harvest season this year. That is my intent. Normal prognosis is in weeks. I've held off on bringing this up on FR for several reasons. But the time to bring it up is now. Consider this my opus. It's as close as I'm going to get to giving one. I really want to thank Jim for giving us a forum. Jim, you do good work. To: JRandomFreeper, Johnny, kenh, out damned spot (#0) Good luck Johnny! I (sort of) know about the 'migrating' cancers. My dad was diagnosed with prostrate several years after his quad-bypass - he was 75 at the time. The prostrate cancer never bothered him (much) - Doc says: "You have prostrate cancer and need this hormone 'pellet' injected into your abdomen." Dad said 'okay'. Until dad decided that the hormone injections were messing him up worse than the cancer - so he stopped them. So - long story short - he made it to 89 - 3 months short of 90. Had lung cancer - oh no, 60 years of smoking menthol cigarettes could NOT have anything to do with THAT, right? Of course not... He started smoking around age 14 or 15 - stopped when he had the quad bypass at age 75. So, yeah... Then came down with lung cancer and stomach cancer. I'll be praying for you! Really. " " He is one of the good guys. " ODS, I will take your word for it, as I did not know the guy. This strikes a cord with me, as this is exactly what happened to my mother. Been there, done that.
