OTOH, I notice they didn't issue any note of disapproval or diplomatic protest at Egypt's actions. Since the Carter era, we had provided $1-$2 billion per year to support Egypt, a payoff for peace with Israel, part of a package of bribes we gave to the Mubarak regime. Then we had the Arab Spring and he was deposed. Morsi arose and was deposed by the army and a friendly young general, al-Sisi, has taken up the Mubarak-dictator role. But in the midst of this, the Saudis ponied up a commitment of $15 billion to Egypt spread over a 7-8 year period supposedly. So the Saudis bought up Egypt and they did not even take phone calls from the Pentagon for quite some time. At least, that is what is reported. OTOH, Egypt needs American arms and munitions to keep its military/security forces operating so there is still some quid pro quo. Of course, none of that is quite as exciting as Breitbart pretending there is some scandal here. Egypt took action against ISIS on their own which is exactly what Obama loves with his leading-from-behind nonsense. And Egypt is the largest and most influential of the Arab states, the Big Dog of the Arab world. So Egypt doing this legitimizes these independent strikes on ISIS and encourages other members of the coalition to do more, again, exactly what Obama's regime wants them to do.
