It's only a matter of time.
The neighboring town of Al-Baghdadi is said to be 90 percent under ISIS control. Even Pentagon flak, ADM John Kirby, admits the main air base at Al-Asad, where more than 300 U.S. Marines have been training Iraqi troops, is under daily mortar attack.
The most recent attack, on the base itself, was conducted by 25 ISIS terrorists, all of whom were killed before the fight was over. Several of the fanatics were wearing explosive vests they detonated before they could be slain.
This was obviously a probe. A much-larger attack is only days or a few weeks away. The Obama bootlickers in the Pentagon Public Affairs Office would have us believe the daily mortar attacks on the main base are "infrequent" and "ineffective." But how long before the Marines find themselves under heavier bombardment, surrounded and unable to be safely extracted from the bull's eye they presently occupy?
WHAT IF THE WORST HAPPENS?
A Marine always fights best when he is on the offense. We learned a bitter lesson about that at Khe Sanh in Vietnam. So did the French at Dien Bien Phu.
What is the plan, or is there one?
God forbid the ISIS captures even one Marine in the fighting to come, puts him in a cage and sets him afire. Will Hussein stop his golf game at Palm Springs long enough to offer more than BS phrases like: "The enemy is on the run" or "ISIS is just the J.V. squad"?

ADM John Kirby may get another star for his pitiful performance carrying water for the "commander-in-chief" in parsing words and trying to put lipstick on a pig, but we think the American people, and certainly not the military, are that easily fooled.
When Obama can't bring himself to even acknowledge the beheading murders of 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians - thank God the Pope did - he called them Egyptian "civilians."
At least when Bill and Hillary Clinton went to church on Sunday and waved the Bible in the air coming out the front door, they paid lip service to being "Christian." Obama, who one time in a Freudian slip (caught on tape) told an ABC NEWS interviewer about his "Muslim faith" before being reminded of his campaign claim to be "Christian," couldn't even be bothered to put on an act.
