A veterans group is getting close to dropping a bombshell on the murder case of renowned Navy SEAL Chis Kyle and his alleged assassin, Eddie Ray Routh. Photo provided by the County Sheriff Routh was apprehended for killing “American Sniper” author Chris Kyle and his friend Chad Littlefield at a shooting range in Fort Worth, Texas two years ago. It’s been widely reported that Routh had been suffering from post-traumatic-stress-disorder, even though growing evidence suggests that he had not seen warfare firsthand. The Warfighter Foundation has been investigating the case and took to social media to expose what they believe to be the truth about Routh: Okay, time to put an end to this whole discussion that Eddie Routh suffered from PTSD. For those of you who do not know, Eddie Routh is the murderer of US Navy SEAL Chris Kyle. Eddie Routh served one tour in Iraq in 2007, at Balad Air Base (the 2nd largest U.S. installation in Iraq), with no significant events. No combat experience. Let me say that again, he NEVER SAW COMBAT or any aspect of traumatic events associated with a combat deployment (i.e. incoming mortar or rocket fire). He never left the base, EVER. He held a non-combat arms occupation of 2111 (Small Arms Repairer/ Technician or more commonly referred to as an Armorer). Balad Air Base had a Pizza Hut, 24 hour Buger King, Subway, Popeye’s, Baskin Robbins, movie theater, and even a miniature golf course. It even had a strictly enforced 10 mile per hour speed limit! What a dangerous place… His tour was comparable to being on a base in southern California, only with MANY more luxuries that were catered to the morale and welfare of the troops who occupied it. He was known to be a drug user and a below average performer while in the Marine Corps. This has NOTHING to do with PTSD. He was an individual with psychological problems that were not associated with his service. So don’t give me that bleeding heart bullshit that he was a veteran suffering from PTSD.

He did not have to leave base. Balad was frequently under rocket and mortar attacks. So that part I can easily debunk. We had to add another battery of Vulcans up there to combat the mortar and rocket threats. Balad was a primary target for insurgent indirect fires. It housed 2 F16 squadrons. The systems we used to combat the indirect fire threat were good. But the radar warning sensors were not designed for such a mission. So Routh endured many 'false alarms' during his tour. I know I heard the complaints as my boss was responsible for the systems. So, bottom line, Balad was a place of comfort as I went there twice to work more CAS sorties for our grunts; but it was a haven for enemy indirect fires...especially at night.

This isn't really breaking news. I've seen it reported on Fox News a number of times and I am not exactly a faithful FNC watcher. So this story is out there in the media already.
Vulcan missiles. My Dad used to work on Vulcan missiles. He would sometimes bring back a dud or whatever a practice round is called. When I was a kid I thought it looked like a small rocket.

There's always a lot of rumors and disinformation flying around. Once a friend of mine was departing Baghdad international when jihad Johnny launched a manpad SAM-9 at him. The SAM hit the #3 engine destroying it. The crew elected to just fly a teardrop pattern and emergency return landing opposite direction with just a very light tailwind using partial flaps for their heavy gross weight. After they shutdown after landing, an army troop passenger riding in the back freaked out and screamed all the way to the psych ward or where ever they hauled him away to. PTSD is weird....you can develop symptoms years later when nightmares, withdrawal, hypervigilance, anger and irratibility issues...
I know, I have also found that the peace that comes from knowing salvation ends a lot of it for many men.
