Now, heres something you dont see everyday; a police officer from Ohio doing a routine traffic stop thanked the person he pulled over for having a concealed carry permit.
The man, who recorded the traffic stop, was driving 15 miles per hour over the speed limit. According to Ohio law, if youre approached by law enforcement and youre carrying a concealed firearm you must inform them.
Im happy to see more people with their CCWs [concealed carry weapons permit], especially with the world becoming the way it is, said the officer.
LOL you just love to see people's heads explode over this one:)
I never knew LF changed to a police blog site:)

In my 20 years, I've never spoke anything but this sentiment to the public. Almost every officer I personally know is pro 2nd amendment and anti gun law. I personally know over 1,000 sworn officers in the state of NY, not one supports or agrees with the UnSafeAct. In fact, every sheriff of every county in libtard NY spoke against it and vowed not to enforce it.
"A federal lawsuit has been filed against the State of New York by affiliates of the National Rifle Association (NRA). New York State's Rifle and Pistol Association filed the lawsuit earlier this month claiming that "the SAFE Act is unconstitutional in that it violates the Second Amendment, the Equal Protection Clause, and is unconstitutionally vague." Now, the New York State Sheriffs Association has joined as amicus curiae in the lawsuit to challenge the constitutionality of the NY SAFE Act."

Just so I understand, if the site owner posts an unslanted, non bias, article about an officer that supports the constitution... that's a police blog?
you've been exposed to too many hate articles. lol

A CCW holder should inform the cop and keep his hands visible at all times.
I am curious though, given how much the libmedia has ranted against CCW, how many shooting incidents with police in routine stops occurred with a CCW permit holder.
The number must be vanishingly small or we would have seen blaring headlines of "CCW Permit Holder Shoots Cop" long since. The number of crimes committed by CCW holders must be vanishingly small.
I've had it happen a couple of times. I had state police manning roadblocks look at my CCW permit, and just smile, thank me for having it,and wave me right through with no questions.
It should be stated that I was not drunk, drugged,or impaired in any other way. They were obviously looking for drunk/drugged drivers, people with warrants, parole violators, etc, etc, etc.,and it was obvious that I didn't fit into any of those categories,so they had no interest in wasting their time or my time.

That's the norm. Regardless of how much anti-cop fear mongering media you are exposed to.

I've never shown or displayed my carry permit, before or after my service as a LEO, while being stopped for a traffic offense or a check point.
I've displayed only what the officer requires, license, registration and proof of insurance. I keep both hands, palms facing up, resting on top of the steering wheel... I'm very polite and I answer the questions asked. I don't argue or try and hold court on the side of the road.
I've only received two tickets prior to my service. Both speed, both times guilty.
One ticket during my service as a LEO... and I was driving a patrol car when I got the ticket.
No tickets or stops in retirement

It used to be that way with me,too. When getting purchase permits became a requirement, the local sheriff told his secretary to give me a permit for anything I wanted to buy, including machine guns. We didn't have CCW permits at that time, but since he had known me for over 20 years,he probably knew I had a handgun in my pocket while he was talking to me.
I had a deputy stop by the house one night around midnight and ask me to get my 45 and ride along with him. He had no other deputies available as backup, and had to go break up a drunken party in a farmer's field. He told me he wanted me to stay in the car and not say or do anything unless he was in obvious danger.
I have had highway patrolmen take their weapons out of their holster and hand them to me when I noticed they had new guns and asked about them. When a HP officer on duty hands his loaded gun to you to check out,he's not very worried about you being dangerous.
I am seeing the recent "professional LEO" graduates of cop schools getting VERY vocal about being anti-gun,though. All these people are in their early 20's,but they won't always be that age. One day they will be senior LEO's,and establishing official department policies.
I even had a Lt with the local sheriff's office tell me several months ago that "I don't care who gets killed as long as it isn't me." when I questioned the insane policy being taught now to partially block part of the traveled road with patrol cars while doing traffic stops. He told me this was for "officer safety",and I told him that was bullshit because by blocking the road with his patrol car he made it more likely that a car coming down the road would run into it,and in turn push that car into the car he had stopped and kill that driver, even if HE managed to jump out of the way because the driver in the stopped car was strapped in behind a steering wheel and had nowhere to go.
Young cops all seem to have a "us versus them" attitude, and they are creating this attitude with the public, also. They obviously aren't smart enough to understand they would lose that war in real life.

I THINK I MIGHT have heard about ONE incident a few years ago,but that didn't get much publicity because it turned out the shooting was justified.
You can bet your bippy such incidents are as rare as rooster lips,or that is all we would be hearing about.

I've displayed only what the officer requires, ...
What the cop asks for is irrelevant in states where all CCW permit holders are required by law to volunteer that information any time they are approached by a LEO acting in his official capacity.
For those of you who don't understand or have never dealt with this,it means if you have a CCW and are standing in line at your local stop and rob and a cop gets in the line behind you,you are NOT required to announce you have a CCW and are carrying a concealed weapon.
If you are stopped for any infraction of the law regardless if you are walking or driving,or if you are a potential witness at a crime scene and a cop comes up to interview you,you ARE required to tell him or her that you are armed and have a CCW permit.
I have personally only seen one cop freak out when I told him I was carrying. It was a new HP cop that stopped me for speeding. I had the window down when he walked up to the car,the shoulder harness was still on,and I had both of my hands on the top of the steering wheel when he walked up to the window. When I told him I was armed and had a CCW,he panicked, backed up into the road, and drew his weapon on me and asked me what I had and where it was.
Stupid SOB would have been ran over if there had been any cars coming.
I told him I had my 22 revolver in my pocket, and he told me to exit the car with my hands in the air and move to the rear and lean forward while placing both hands on the trunk. There I was, maybe 2 PM on a weekday afternoon, looking like a criminal being arrested by anyone passing by,and I had done nothing to deserve to be treated like a felon.
He took my 22 back to his patrol car with him,and I am ASSUMING he called in the serial number to see if it were stolen.
He came back and gave me the ticket and told me to walk to the hood of my car and stop and then he would place my 22 on the trunk and I could get it AFTER he had driven away.
That's when I told him that if he was scared of a old fat man with a CCW having a gun on a sunny afternoon, what was he going to do when he had to stop a car full of drunken blacks or rednecks at 2 AM and they got belligerent with him? I further told him he needed to find a new job because he had too much mouse in him to be a HP trooper and he was going to end up shooting someone out of fear and end up in prison himself.
I guess he must have thought that over or had other run-ins,because a couple of months later I heard he had quit and gone to work selling insurance or something.

I wouldnt live or police in any state where I'm required to tell you I'm armed on a V&T stop.
I personally never cared if motorists were armed and concealed.. as long as they stayed in their vehicle and didn't pull it out to show me. I would imagine I've stopped hundreds upon hundreds of vehicles where one of the occupants were armed and I didn't know it. I'm still alive.

Woh. Totally unprepared for the idea that the public actually has guns.

And he was that scared of a old fat man in broad daylight that had a CCW issued in the county he was working in.
He wouldn't have even known I had a gun if I hadn't told him,and when I did tell him,he panicked.

Thanks for posting this video for me Gatlin.

Another case of underestimating the ammo requirements
As reported earlier this week, some dirtbag who got pulled over in a routine traffic stop in Florida ended up "executing" the deputy who stopped him.
The deputy was shot eight times, including once behind his right ear at close range.
Another deputy was wounded and a police dog killed.
A statewide manhunt ensued. The low-life piece of human garbage was found hiding in a wooded area with his gun. SWAT team officers fired and hit said low-life 68 times.
Now here's the kicker: Asked why they shot the guy 68 times, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd told the Orlando Sentinel ... get this. "That's all the bullets we had."
