Obama in 2008: Obama drew fire in 2008 for seeming to give credence to the link. At one campaign appearance, Obama noted that “some people are suspicious” that skyrocketing rates of autism might be linked to vaccines. “The science right now is inconclusive, but we have to research it,” he said. Obama today: “The science is, you know, pretty indisputable,” Obama said.

"I am committed to...find the causes of autism, including possible environmental causes like vaccines." -Hillary Clinton, 2008 Isn't it funny how you heard nary a peep from the media when Clinton and Obama suggested a link between vaccinations and autism back in 2008, but they go completely apesh**, jump up and down and fling their feces when a Republican does the same? Be it Bachmann, Christie or Paul, the latter two especially said nothing controvesial (unless you think opposing mandatory vaccines is a scandal).
The government needs to go back to the Bill of Rights and stay out of the science of medicine. Politicians are all whores. Who goes to a whore for medical advice?
Which brings us to a few undeniable truths - in no particular order. 1. The EstablishMedia has favored the Ds over the Rs for at least the last 60 years. So - back to the point, which is: Why does the EstablishMedia ALWAYS favor the Ds over the Rs if there's not fundamental differences? Good question. My speculation is this: The EstablishMedia - progressive entity that it is - is all about "fundamentally changing" the US. Even though the D branch and the R branch both agree, the D branch always seems to do it faster. Which is why the EstablishMedia will ALWAYS favor the Ds. (But they won't be too sad if a Ford or a Bush happen to slip through).

2. There is no reason to believe that the EstablishMedia is going to change anytime soon.
3. At a deeper level, there is no fundamental difference in policy between the D branch of the Ruling Party and the R branch. Any differences, such as they are, are cosmetic only.
4. To buttress fundamental truth #3, take ZeroCare as an example. Both the Ds and the Rs have had as their "wet dream" for the last 100 years or so "socialized medicine." Now that the camel's nose is in the tent, so to speak, ZeroCare is NOT (repeat, NOT) going to go away. Tommy the Turtle and Johnnie the Tan - now that they are safely ensconced in Congress - are no longer talking repeal. They are going to "fix" it.
