I don't find these late medieval fabrications convincing. The sheer number of them speaks against their authenticity. Their constuction in warp and woof and in thread types indicate late medieval origins inconsistent with the claims made for them. Catholic relics are generally documented frauds or are conveniently untestable. And then the Vatican made my very favorite relic, the Holy Prepuce, disappear because they found that one too embarrassingly medieval.
