BAKERSFIELD — Elementary school children are now being pressured to obediently offer their support for the police state. Like Martin Luther King Jr. Day, cops are trying to start their own new holiday called “Law Enforcement Appreciation Day,” as if they are an oppressed group who struggle to overcome tyranny. Worse, impressionable children were instructed to celebrate it. The Fresno People’s Media notes that the day “isn’t actually a holiday at all, but rather a political stunt sponsored by the Fraternal Order of Police.” Aimee Williamson is a wife of the Bakersfield Police Chief. She is also the principal of North Beardsley Elementary School. Aimee took it upon herself to send an email to teachers at the school asking them to celebrate the artificial holiday, according to reports. Imagine that you entrust your child to the care of strangers for about six hours a day. How would you feel if these strangers took it upon themselves to install various political programming into your child’s fragile mind? How would you feel if you found out that these strangers are essentially brainwashing your child to become a domesticated police-worshiping slave? One of the teachers at the school, after receiving the email, instructed children to “write a letter” to the Bakersfield Police department and “thank them” for “arresting the bad guys and keeping the city safe.” The children were also instructed to dress in blue clothes — as if they are now to wear uniforms — register their loyal support for police on January 9th, according to reports. When parents found out about what was happening, they became upset, according to reports. One child, whose father was killed in Bakersfield police custody, was reported to have stayed home from school, ruining his otherwise perfect attendance record. North Beardsley Elementary School has so far declined to comment about the incident, according to reports. There's more drama written into this article than a 60 minute Kardashian episod. I'm sure the kids were asked to wear blue as a suggestion. Those that didn't, were not pointed out. Hardly defines "instructed" or "uniforms" The author sounds like a Spanish student who feels they should make a stink out of USA shirts worn during a "Spanish" holiday. The hipocracy

Kids are supposed to be going to school for an education, not to be indoctrinated and coerced into becoming sheep.
When I was in third Grade. They had some police officers come talk to us. We got little stickers that were police badges. At recess we played cops and robbers. We pointed our fingers at each other and said bang. Maybe even used some sticks as guns. There is nothing wrong with the police coming out for a day. Or the firemen. Or the doctor. That is just teaching them about different things. Unless you can show me where the indoctrination is in this case I will agree that government schools indoctrinate children. I don't know if this is the case or not.
Sounds like more drama. FBI studies show that even the DARE program has little to no influence over school children and deemed a waste of time and money. I doubt a small child wearing blue, by choice, once a year, will keep them from taking conspiracy theory 101 in college.

Thanks to zero tolerance in the schools, if you did that nowdays, you'd be expelled from school and possibly be charged with making "terroristic" threats.
An international survey finds that our students are not keeping up with kids in other countries in math, science and even language…and you find a problem this. You are amazing!
We did too. However we could never find anyone who wanted to play a robber. Then of course, we did not have a Deckard around.
I find that expelling a child from school for pointing his finger like a gun, or biting a Pop-Tart into the shape of a gun or even mentioning a gun is abhorrent, and those who applaud these zero-tolerance rules are equally as repulsive.
What did you do? Pretend some of the cops were on the take and bust them?
We had fun. The great thing about attending school is that we got together with friends, in particular those who lived in different parts of the county. School can be enjoyable and learning can be made fun. All you need is the right perspective, something you seemed to have never developed.
I cannot but help but notice that you find MANY thing abhorrent. How long have you had this attitude problem?
I call them the way I see them - you for instance may be a nice guy, but your views on freedom and your incessant cheering for the police state are abhorrent

Right - I should be more like you and view the world through rose-colored glasses, a world where the government would never pull a false flag op in order to advance an agenda, a world where cops walk on water, a world where our elected officials care about the constitution. No thanks - I prefer reality.

You do realize that when you defend your activist agenda, with personal attacks and one dimensional thinking (like the police are the root of all society problems)... you lose credibility. You say some strange, off the wall things. I'm not sure what the cause is. Agenda, anger or ignorance?

They are merely a symptom of the loss of freedom. You know, maybe if cops didn't have the "us versus them" mentality, we'd all be better off. Maybe if they actually would "protect and serve" rather than "harass and assault". Maybe if their first priority wasn't "getting home safe" at the end of the day.
