I know---do you?

There are a lot of corny stories that float around.

He actually was certifying, as president of the Continental Congress, that it was the true final copy of the Declaration which had been much amended. The Declaration was not actually produced and distributed in its final form for months after it was voted on. Which was July 2, our true Independence Day. Not this phony July 4 date that people think so much of.

/sniff

My understanding was that Hancock was the most aggrieved with George III and he with him. Hancock was the most pissed off and angry of the King's subjects. The prominence of the signature was designed to be a challenge and an insult to King George.

Sounds like something I would do!

floor outside the council meeting:

Said the sheep.

Gatlin was depressed when even his own flock wouldn't get near him.

Gatlin and company wouldn't look too kindly on a John Hancock today:

On April 9, 1768, two customs employees boarded John Hancock's brig Lydia in Boston Harbor. Hancock was summoned, and finding that the agents lacked a writ of assistance (a general search warrant), he did not allow them to go below deck.

When one of them later managed to get into the hold, Hancock's men forced the tidesman back on deck. Customs officials wanted to file charges, but the case was dropped when Massachusetts Attorney General Jonathan Sewall ruled that Hancock had broken no laws. Later, some of Hancock's most ardent admirers would call this incident the first act of physical resistance to British authority in the colonies and credit Hancock with initiating the American Revolution

Hancock was a Rebel that Gatlin would love to see hanging. Imagine if this was 1775- where would Gats stand? With the Rebels or the Redcoats?

Those cops are now in Federal Court Gatlin. They are not contesting false arrest, false imprisonment, assault, battery and other causes of action after they stupidly attacked me in front of TV cameras.

We all know where Gatlin's sentiments and loyalities lie---and it's not with the rebels, tis with the tarnished crown.

That's a stupid comment and you're a stupid person Gatlin. Read what I told you---they are not contesting the majority of the charges. That means they are pleading culpable for their actions.

You damned Redcoat! How dare you!     : )

The things some people spat about...

At least some of us (me for one) were reminded to set our DVRs to record the miniseries which looks like a fresh short treatment of the major events of the early Revolution. The homeschoolers will all buy a copy, no doubt.
