FBI agents took Officer Dominick Lillo, 44, into custody at his home Friday morning.
The arrest pertains to the December 27, 2013, arrest of 26-year-old Brandon Walsh and his family.
Walsh filed a federal lawsuit last November, claiming that Lillo and two other police officers stormed into his home and pepper-sprayed him and his mother.
Police have said they were there to arrest Walsh on an outstanding warrant and that he refused to come outside, shoved an officer and tried to shut the door. They say he then repeatedly struck one of the officers in the head.
According to the lawsuit, after Walsh was taken into custody and was being brought to a police cruiser, Lillo retrieved some sort of blunt instrument and struck Walsh in the face, causing permanent injury and disfigurement.
Lillo also allegedly falsified a Bayonne Police Department Use of Force Report related to the arrest with the intent to impede an investigation into the case.
Lillo is charged with violating civil rights by using excessive force, as well as falsifying records.
He was released on $100,000 unsecured bond.
The use of excessive force count carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, while falsifying records carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.

I've got a 14 cause of action Federal civil rights / excessive force / conspiracy / deprivation lawsuit going on in California right now. The cops are not even contesting most of the charges. They stupidly attacked me in front of NBC TV cameras at a public meeting without probable cause, warrant or reasonable suspicion. The Federal Judges don't want to dismiss the case I brought to them against the cops.
At LP it was only 2 or 3 people/screen names made fun of you for being arrested but here it's double that, why do you think that is? More sockpuppets maybe?
