Title: Newt Gingrich Reminds Us Why We Loathe Him

Gingrich replies to Michael Moore’s criticism of “American Sniper”: “Michael Moore should spend a few weeks with ISIS and Boko Haram. Then he might appreciate@AmericanSniper. I am proud of our defenders.”

U.S. snipers our are defenders? Are they perched atop a U.S. building ready to pick off some foreign invader of the  United States? Of course not.

Chris Kyle did not kill to defend any American.

He did not kill for my “right to post some dumb ass s**t” about him, like I was told yesterday.

He killed, by his own admission, because he thought that Iraqis were savages who deserved to die and because he liked killing them.

He killed for his bloated ego, not to defend the United States.

You are allowing your political prejudices to overpower your alleged intellect.

Or maybe you think all those people running around in US uniforms were Arabs wearing costumes?

We invaded THEIR country.

I get the talking point, that the sniper's target never has a chance to fight. No more than a buck during hunting season, up against a hunter with a scoped rifle. Not a fair match in any way.

But a modern sniper is still rarely safe. They take considerable risks in maneuvering close enough to kill an enemy and escape.

Some of the old Soviet snipers of WW II were probably the most amazing, given the harsh conditions and an absolutely ruthless enemy.

If there is anything that is even the tiniest bit "fair" about war,I sure don't know what it would be.

Life itself isn't fair.

"We invaded THEIR country."

Yes we did. But I don't understand your point. Are you saying that because we invaded their country, we can't use snipers to protect the troops?

I went and saw the movie. I enjoyed it. I think that Chris Kyle was an honorable man.

You should have been there at the end of the movie. Total silence. It was like walking out of a funeral. I've never seen that type of reaction after a movie.

This movie is huge. Hollywood weirdos that attack the movie like Moore, Rogan will regret it. People will remember them. Because they identify Kyle as a hero. When the liberal loud mouths open their mouth they will only discredit themselves to the vast majority of Americans.

I don't have anything in common with those two liberal assholes.

The point is - this whole "hero-worship" crap for the troops is getting a little overdone.

I don't think people are worshiping him. They just respect him.

You should see the movie. I didn't support the war. But I respect Chris Kyle.

Is this emerging hatred for US troops part of your anti-police all the time psychosis?

I don't "hate" the troops.

All I said is that the hero worship of soldiers (and cops) goes too far.

America actually won a few wars ... but the last war won was World War Two. Since then, America has occupied the world with some sort of bribe to consenting nations and hence, America's huge debt and deficit.

it seems a little disingenuous to comment on something you have never seen.

Watch any NFL game and you'll see what I mean about "hero worship".

American Sociopaths

In the military. From someone who read my post, “Newt Gingrich Reminds Us Why We Loathe Him”:

You state that “he killed for his bloated ego, not to defend the United States.”  I actually think it is easier than that.

I spent six years as a Naval Special Warfare Intelligence Analyst. “Special Warfare” here being an euphemism for SEAL. No, I wasn’t a SEAL, but, as the “job” title implies, I supported these whack jobs.

I am also currently writing my dissertation in Depth Psychology and the deleterious effects of war on the human soul. I mention the above two snippets of history only to support what I am going to say next.

The sad reality is that most of the special operations types are psychopaths, or “sociopaths” (because we wouldn’t want to offend the delicate little flowers by “negative labels”) in the clinical sense of the word.

You are right…most of them really enjoy killing…more so, they love the “juice” of being in combat, of sneaking around doing dangerous things, manipulating people, etc. etc.

I have a friend who is an NCIS agent…he tells me it is a full-time job keeping tabs on these jokers and bailing them out of trouble in the civilian towns around the bases…

I guess what I’m saying is that it’s not a bloated ego that they are killing for…it is just fun (for them) to remorselessly manipulate, torture and kill for its own sake.
