The God in the story (or historical account, depending on your stance) is the same, and the actions and results could also be considered shared. This alone discounts the assertion that Christianity's version of God and faith is bloodier and crueler than Islam's when using this reference. That being we are the created and God is the Creator. There were horrible things going on in Canaan and later around, and even later right inside Israel. Things like parents having their children walk through fire as a sacrifice to gods. Of course the children perished. The parents did this ritual sacrifice to gain favor with the gods, gain power and financial gain. Sounds familiar. There was also other horrible murders, rapes, brutal treatment of orphans and widows and yes the worst kind of sexual perversions. God judged these kings and nations. He used the sword from Israel to remove the filth from His nostrils. Are we really going to judge the Judge?
