Title: Christian Blogger Declares Leggings "Lustful"

Christian blogger and Oregon mom, Veronica Partridge, took her struggle over whether or not to wear leggings to the internet. Partridge's love of leggings was weighing "heavy on my heart," she wrote on her self-named blog. So the blogger asked her husband, motivational speaker Dale Partridge, his thoughts on leggings. According to Partridge her husband said, "When I walk into a place and there are women wearing yoga pants everywhere, it's hard to not look. I don't, but it's not easy." And with that singular confession of lust and arousal over what's essentially women's shit-clothing, Partridge decided to ditch leggings for more modest clothes.

Partridge reasoned that if her husband, a man who "loves, honors and respects" her, finds it hard to "keep his eyes focused ahead" then perhaps it is even harder for a man with less "self-control." Keeping the total lack of control that all men have when faced with yoga pants and leggings in mind, Partridge concludes, "The only time I feel (for myself) it is acceptable to wear them, is if I am in the comfort of my own home or if I am wearing a shirt long enough to cover my rear end."

For her part, Partridge is pleased with her decision,"...My conscience is clear and I feel I am honoring God and my husband in the way I dress."

For my part, I'm currently wearing some super-lustful yoga pants, but have yet to shower today.

Veronica Partridge, Christian Blogger, Vows To Give Up Yoga Pants To 'Honor God And Husband'

This woman is taking fashion sins a little more seriously than most.

Christian blogger Veronica Partridge has been getting a lot of attention for a blog post earlier this month in which she vows to no longer wear leggings in public because of her religious beliefs. The decision -- which she writes weighed "heavy on her heart" for several months -- was done to inspire fewer "lustful" thoughts in men.

Apparently, a discussion about the skintight garment led Partridge’s husband to confess to her that “it’s hard not to look” when he goes somewhere filled with leggings-clad women. “I try not to, but it’s not easy,” he told her, according to her to blog.

The revelation that guys might be checking out Partridge’s be-spandexed bum is what led the 25-year-old to quit leggings and yoga pants — a decision she writes weighed “heavy on her heart” for

Not wanting people to gawk at you is a perfectly reasonable desire. However, Partridge’s decision sounds like it stems not from her own discomfort, but because she feels personally responsible for not inciting sinful thoughts in men:

If it is difficult for my husband who loves, honors, and respects me to keep his eyes focused ahead, then how much more difficult could it be for a man that may not have the same self-control? Sure, if a man wants to look, they are going to look, but why entice them? Is it possible that the thin, form-fitting yoga pants or leggings could make a married (or single) man look at a woman in a way he should only look at his wife?

After spending a couple of weeks sans leggings, she writes, her “conscience is clear” and she feels she’s “honoring God and my husband in the way I dress.”

While Partridge’s essay has drawn plenty of mockery, and even anger, from those who feel her anti-leggings stance is ridiculous, her line of thinking appears to be shared by school administrators nationwide. Leggings are banned in middle schools and high schools throughout the country, sometimes under the premise of not distracting male students. Parents at a middle school in Evanston, Illinois, spoke out against the dress code last year, saying the policy sent an “antiquated and warped message” that “shifts the blame for boy’s behavior or lack of academic concentration, directly onto the girls.”

99% of women in these yoga spandex pants seem to not fit in them. I don't find that attractive but to each his own.

If we wantto get serious - dress codes predate Christianity and Abrahamic religions. I recall Augustus issuing statements against certain kinds of make up (I could be wrong). And in England we had a tax on wigs to reduce their use.

These kinds of dress codes were done not for modesty purposes but to limit expenses on clothing which was very expensive back in the past. Another case of is that of the Landsknechte mercenaries of the late middle ages who were exepmted for these sumptuary laws by Maximilian I because they lived "...short and brutish" lives.

So through history you have dress codes based on religion and economics dictated by the prevailing state.

To be honest, while I am not a clothes horse by any means, I would like to see the adult men start to wear shirts and pants rather than jeans and t-shirts when going to movies or travelling or even to a ballgame. Take a look at a 1950s baseball game to see how men dressed back in the day on a casual outing. Makes us moderns look like boors.

I had to go back and check to see what you are referring to.

Her shoes are "Ballet Flats" and they look like they are made by Timberland.
Google: Amazon "Timberland Women's Ellsworth Ballet Flat."

Judging from the size, they could be used as canoes.

...."christian"....

You obviously don't know that Christians think that capitalizing certain words pays homage, and not capitalizing them is an insult somehow.

One always capitalize "Christian"....just like one always capitalize God, or Buddha. It's a proper noun.

Yes, I know the owner of this forum is a Christian and if I do something wrong he can ban me. So you are telling me something that I already know.

You'd be wise to maintain.

I am always wise....thanks for dropping by.

You posting style and wording reminds me of liberator....
