The source told Kravitz that officials took a ball out of play at one point and weighed it. New York Newsday's Bob Glauber tweeted around 7 a.m. Monday that NFL Spokesman Michael Signora confirmed the WTHR exclusive that the NFL is looking into whether footballs were properly inflated during the Colts- Patriots game. A deflated football could potentially be easier to throw and catch or more difficult, depending on how deflated it is. Kravitz was told that if a league investigation confirms deflated footballs, it would result in lost draft picks for the Patriots. Deflating footballs isn't a new issue in the game of football. A USC football manager was fired from the team in 2012 after taking the heat for intentionally deflating footballs in a game against Oregon. Poster Comment: If this is true. How many times did the Colts handle the ball? (well not many lol). Meaning no one from either side or the refs made a stink about this at all. It is one of those situations where it either benefitted both teams or degraded both teams. To: Vinny (#1) I remember a Seahawk game from the early 90's, where Steve Largent after a timeout stayed on the sidelines only to step onto the field just before the snap. He went downfield and caught a TD pass which was disallowed. The reason given by officials, "INTENT TO DECEIVE". Why the Patriots were not stopped from the shenanigans during the Raven game, when they went hurry up and left no time for the Ravens to know which players were eligible is a question whose answer eludes me.
