POCATELLO, Idaho — A southeastern Idaho man who entered an apartment and threatened two people with a machete before being shot has been sentenced to 15 years in prison. Fifty-four-year-old Twain Thomas of Pocatello received the sentence Thursday in 6th District Court and must serve five years before becoming eligible for parole. He previously pleaded guilty to one count of second degree attempted murder as well as aggravated assault. Police say that Thomas on Feb. 22 [2014] entered an upstairs apartment in Pocatello and threatened two people with a machete. Police say he then entered a downstairs apartment and threatened two other people, but one of the residents shot him in the upper torso.

Yup. Too bad that he survived. But it's great that someone had a gun to stop him. This video should be shown to every liberal that makes the "You should just call the police." silly statement. They would have all been hacked to pieces with a machete long before a cop would have shown up.

BTW,am I the only one having trouble making sense of this story? It says he THREATENED people with the machete,but it also says he was convicted of attempted murder. Which to ME,means he didn't threaten anyone with the damn thing,he CUT someone with it.

You have to remember the AP wrote this story.

He admitted that he was trying to kill them, so maybe that's enough for an attempted murder conviction? Towards the end of the video he says that he was trying to kill him, and that the shooter did the right thing.
