He is gutsy, I'll give him that. How long until they just shoot him, like Anwar Sadat?
Here is a textbook example of his bravery. Merely a few weeks before he marched into a Christian Church in Cairo to wish them "Merry Christmas" and to proclaim that they are just are all Egyptians together, he dared to say this directly to some of the leading Muslim Imans in the world. I noticed that some of them didn't look too happy in the crowd, lol.

I'm trying to recall any major Arab leader who ever said anything remotely comparable. Yet, with the Saudis having taken over funding Egypt from the US (to the tune of $15 billion), it seems unlikely that al-Sisei said this without their assent. The Saudis are relenting on women voting and setting aside some parliamentary seats for them. And perhaps lifting the driving ban. They have sharply curbed the volunteer "morality police" that used to run wild. So the Saudis are changing and so is Saudi-funded Egypt. Both are de facto allies of Israel and don't bother much to hide that fact from their own populations.
